2012 blockbusters are junk & lack originality , 80s had the most grandiose bodacious gonzo big movies. & I was 5 yrs old & saw Ghostbusters II in theaters, Suck it
It was kinda like TV in teh 50's... only one vcr to a middle-class house due to teh expense. This way, us teens could 'have our VERY OWN VCR!!!!' (Yes, it WAS that big of a deal.. especially to not have to 'share' it in teh family room... i.e. we needed privacy for underground porn)
Also, due to teh continuing BETAMAX vs VHS WAR, video cassettes were VERY expensive to purchase. So, lower and middle-class America simply RENTED videos a dozen times instead of buying them.
@anmoose I was the first kid I knew who figured out how to connect 2 vcrs and copy tapes from Blockbuster. Then I got my friends doing it. It's no wonder I love torrenting to this day. I must have some pirate blood in me.

So this was on a vhs tape so you would already have had a vcr so why would you care about winning one?
And why would you want to win the same movie you just watched?
ROHTNA1991 2 years ago
Because back THEN, vcr's were still new tech. A decent vcr cost $499.99... teh same one today would be $29.99

Yeah I know I was just stating people would have already had one to have seen this

LOL! Crafty middle class Americans bought two good 4 head vcr's, rented the tape once, and copied it.
