  • Hey Bella !! Love your video, Can you tell me who is singing this version of O Sole Mio ? I love it !

  • Very nice and fun! I'm Italian, your interpretation of our gestures is correct: brava (good)!! :)

Like you said, this is just smaaaaaaaaaaaall part of all the gestures.... Italians are very very "gestural"...ahahaha... =)

  • Hey WoodGirl,

I like the video, but I have some questions. I've been doing research on Italian hand gestures, and I've found that other videos show similar gestures but give different meanings. Like:

Your "They're good friends" has also been described as "Something suspicious with those two"

Your "I cannot stand him" has also been described as "What a bore, or how boring"

    Are these just similes?

Thanks. Good work! I love the lighting.

  • Thanks for your nice comment.

I think in Italy we might use the same gesture but, depending on the context, it can change slightly its meaning.

Like knocking the index fingers, in general, is used for is "two people that are close". The same thing can be used for "good friends" or "they are devising something", "they are always togheter", etc. You can understand it better from the words that go along with that.

Here I showed just small part of all the gestures ^__^ I can shoot a new video..

  • hehe - cool :D

  • haha bravissima! Loved it!

    !Nat!

  • Correct, but only as regard southern Italy.

  • no, dài, è proprio un bel video!!

  • dont use the last gesture...in italy it is worse then the middle fingure

  • Those are typical Napolitan gestures!!!

  • In Sicily we have the same gestures...I guess that's a southern thing

  • I am Neapolitan and gestures you showed are all truly amazing! wow! ciao ragazziiiiiiii!

XD

  • are you come from sicily? aren't you? ...

    I'm laughing I can't stop....

  • well done, like it!

  • Nice video, good editing and informative =) I've been to Rome a few months ago and knew some of those gestures but you had a few new ones too. Nice work =)

  • bravissima... he he he XD

  • this was great! i love the way it is filmed and edited :)

  • Thank you...I'll check your videos, now, I'm curious! ;)

  • That was actually very educational. Good job, woodgirl!

  • Oh, when I had a gf from Monza many years ago, I think her father did the "I don't trust you" gesture to me once... ;)

  • If you date Italian girls you should beware of their fathers! ^_^

just kidding: this is sort of a stereotype in the North, so if she was from Monza, you were safe (but it's still true in the South!)

  • I'm Sicilian and I can tell what you say is just bullshit mate, that really is just a stereotype.

I never had to be carefull about anygirl fathers.

Don't talk about things that you don't really know.

  • excellent !

  • Nice editing work. Love the music in the background. The person modeling the gestures is also nice. :-) Do please keep up the good work...

  • Thanks JLC, do you have any suggestions for the future? (exept for our coming video collaboration)

  • Thanks so much for sharing this video. I LOVE it! More! More! More!

  • Hi Bud! if you want to ask me about any other gesture that you don't understand, why don't you post a video reponse and show me those? I'll be happy to tell you more =)
