@Salvysahagun her voice actress was in africa during this and later died of lung cancer - that might not mean much to you (think why not just use a different voice actress) but it means a lot to the japanese fan base, such that they would rather remove her from the plot than replace her with a new voice

unfortunately, sayla IS such a pivotal character in the story that it looks really bad that she's missing

that being said, i REALLY think CCA should have included kamille in a gundam

I heard Sayla is only mentioned in the CCA: Beltorchika's Children novel.

Apparently, Char thinks of his sister on Earth few moments before he goes 'MIA'.

Funny thing is that he knew his sister was on Earth and still tried to throw Axis on Earth? Actually, he's not the kind of man who would let a sister stop him, so understandable. He was probably hoping that Sayla would leave Earth before Axis hist Earth.

Sayla is a developed character from a franchise that focused on a war story and background while Lacus and Relena are booty calls and Mary-Sues. No offense, but there's not even a comparison to be made. o__o

None taken. I don't see Relena as a Mary Sue, I see her as an empty shell with no taste at all. Lacus sure is a Mary Sue as she took a more cartoony design and influences a lot by doing nothing. I know there are way more Gundam heroines, but I just placed these 3 as Sayla is God Tier, Lacus decent tier & Relena shit tier.

So sad that both of voice actors for Bright Noa and Sayla Mass have passed away. Inoue was also great as Kanuka Clancy in Patlabor series.

It's also ironic that Bright Noa's voice actor died after release of the last of Zeta Gundam movie trilogy.

In Double Zeta she was a appear to be in the part happen in Zeta Gundam when she hear the news brodcast, she was also a cameo part in the flashback past in Char Counterattack where Char remember happen for one year war i guess. If you read the manga, Amuro does have a romantic relationship with Sayla. Char kills Amuro in the manga, anyways.

Well, from what I heard, they both died of lung cancer. That's sad. A huge loss to the Gundam world, especially for Bright Noa since he appeared in almost all UC Gundam anime.

@SaylaMass They might recast Bright, seeing as he has a, not insignificant part, in Gundam Unicorn, and he's mentioned.

Sayla continues to be side-lined, she hasn't, due to extenuating circumstances, had a particularly big role in Gundam since the original. But it's better that, out of respect for You Inoue, they keep it that way.

I haven't read the Unicorn novels and watched only the 1st episode so far.

But, even though Bright is mentioned as Commander of Londo Bell,

I doubt he'll make an appearance in Unicorn. Even if he does in novels, I think it will be a silent cameo in anime, out of respect for the late voice actor.

@Kanuskiz Perhaps. But the writer did write the novels after Hirotaka Suzuoki died and he put Bright in there perhaps fully aware that Unicorn would be animated. The fact is, because You Inoue was only in the original they can afford to leave Sayla out of most Gundam projects. Bright Noa on the other hand appears in just about everything and it's not uncommon for other seiyu to take up deceased seiyu's parts, Kaneto Shiozawa was largely replaced in most of his roles.

@Kanuskiz He was M'Quve in Gundam, he was replaced by Masahiko Tanaka.

But more notably Kaneto Shiozawa was Gray Fox in Metal Gear, and Aries Mu in Saint Seiya, both of which he was replaced by Takumi Yamazaki, who, speaking of his replacement for the MGS : BD did an excellent job of replicating his voice.

you're right. Beltorchika gives birth to Amuro's child apparently towards the end of the novel, hence the tile "children" even though they get one baby.
