I agree with what Driscoll says here to an extent. However, where does he get his statistics? I admire people that are virgins, I am not but I still think it's a beautiful thing. Sexual histories can lead to regret and complication, its a big trust issue. In a Godly relationship, you should make the commitment to remain without sex until marriage. I waited until I was 21. I don't regret it but the guy slept with me and then 2 weeks later moved overseas never to return again. Behind the scenes, people would admit that living without any legal obligation towards one another was the largest source of their dysfunctions. @girtkaz there are no writings from historians of the time about jesus outside of christian writings. jesus never wrote anything. the gospels were written at least 60 years after jesus's death. the writers of the gospels were not matthew, mark, luke, and john; they were anonymous. other self proclaimed messiahs from the same time period as jesus, such as appollonius of tyana and simon magus of simeria, had things written by historians.

I agree with what Driscoll says here to an extent. However, where does he get his statistics? I admire people that are virgins, I am not but I still think it's a beautiful thing. In fact, I believe that it is a great thing. Moreover, when I listen to christians attempt to defend the fact that they are virgins with pithy statements such as "But you can never again be like me", it places the 'other' category on everyone else. It makes those that may have been through this process feel excluded.

Sexual histories can lead to regret and complication, its a big trust issue. In a Godly relationship, you should make the commitment to remain without sex until marriage. Even non virgins can always choose to wait, and not make the same mistake again. 'testing the water' is an excuse for someone to take what they want and leave.

I love the fact that my fiancé and I have never had sex or lived with each other.I believe our marriage will be stronger then if we were to of had sex before marriage.I know I am getting a lot of slack from my sisters, but my dad was a pastor, and I know that he would be so proud of me and him for choosing to do it the way that we have.We don't believe in divorce, and I don't need to have sex to find out if he is the one.He loves that I am independent and strong but lean on him when I need it.

I waited until I was 21. I don't regret it but the guy slept with me and then 2 weeks later moved overseas never to return again. Now at 23 - I am waiting again until hopefully marriage or at least very long term serious commitment. I think there are definitely benefits to waiting till marriage... but yes you need to understand your sexuality and not be embarrassed or afraid of it as well.

I don't spend my life regretting what I did. Not at all. Although I have asked for God's forgiveness. I just look at my lovely friends and I see the ones who have waited until marriage before having sex - they have much deeper, loving and more committed marriages. The stats speak for themselves...

Marriage is VERY important in God's eyes. To quote directly from the bible: Mark 10: 7-9: "So a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one body. Last year, I was working on a script that dealt with this issue. Behind the scenes, people would admit that living without any legal obligation towards one another was the largest source of their dysfunctions. In public, they kept living in the pattern that's being spoken of here. Now, I found out that most of them have some sort of VD. Tax payers are now paying for their irresponsibility. If they can impose their immorality on us, why can't we force our morality on them? Ours is tax free.

You probably aren't going to find a mate that is a virgin. How does that make you feel? I have a close friend from High School and she is 31 years old...just like you...waiting for "God to send her the right man." She could be waiting forever. As for those of us that have HEALTHY, mature sex lives, not all of us are "messed up" or have STDs! Many of us are happy & content. It isn't as if virginity is such a great thing to have as an adult.
