  • Nice work on the car man. Is this a two stage paint? I know what color, I'm just trying to get the paint process

  • Excellent !!!

  • very neat looking specimen! Good thinking!

Should get a sslab of beer and 3 mates to visit.

    More drinking time then!

  • Interesting to see, in my restoration projects i also use these kind of tricks so that i can do the job on my own. :) But why did you do it, for demonstration only? Both chassis and body look in very good shape to me..

  • wanted to say thanks for the video, just bought a 62 rag top that I have to pull the body on, and was wondering how I was going to do this solo, helps a ton

  • cool but this song suuuuuuks!!

  • Dude, I put the sawhorse clear to the rear, slide it as far under and lift...then get one for the front, and lift -- I put it under the highest part -- all the time Madre De Dios....es facil....

    62 sunroof bug

  • nice Job!!! could you let us know where all the body bolts are located/ how many are there? and do you know if the Ghia is the same way? Thanks in advance!!

  • Awesome work. But weren't a couple of buddies available to support removing the body? Just for curiosity.

  • Madre de Dios...... it`s a very danger.......

  • Cool setting xD

  • I HAVE A 69 BUG AND I HAVE TO REPLACE THE PAN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.I HEARD BODY OF RESTORATION WAS THE BEST WAY TO GO.ONCE I GET MY FIREBIRD FIXED I'M GOING TO START ON MY BUG.COOL VIDEO.VERY INFORMATIVE.

  • @1980rnw - Very cool! Keep me posted on your progress. Thanks!

  • How did you keep the front suspension up and able to roll it out from under it? My tie rods and wheels flop around after removing it from body.

  • @jmd4j - Thanks for your inquiry. The car is a '66 which has a front beam suspension. You must have a later model Super Beetle which has struts.

  • May I ask how you got it back together?

    LOVELY CAR either way :)

  • @al1690 - Thanks for the comment. Basically just did the same thing, but in reverse. Unfortunately I didn't shoot video of the process, but I did take some pictures. There's a link in this video's description that will take you to my blog where you'll find a post about putting it back together. I'd post a direct link here, but Youtube won't let me. Thanks again!

  • it really amazing how- after 70 years- this car is still so cool- although it has a crazy past- the car is still amazing- simple yet modern- really amazing restoration- it hard to get such a nice classic look, like it came off the assembly line, and have such a mirror finish on the paint- the body must have been in really good shape or did you have to peat the panels?

  • @mikethenascarfan - Hi Mike. Thanks for the comments. Yeah, the car came from California. It was super dry and the body is straight as an arrow. A rare find. Thanks again! -Wolfy

  • @wolfywho i figured it came from california- the best restored pieces in the u.s. all seem to call from california- i aprreciate the response

  • @meklopfklopf - Thanks! Appreciate it.

  • tried this on a 76 bug with rusted floor and heater channels-took me forever, only to discover that some idiot had welded the pan to the bodyshell.

  • @stevieb620 - Oh man, that's a bummer. What did you end up doing?

  • @stevieb620 - Just got your reply on my channel. Man, that sux. But, at the same time, maybe a blessing in disquise since the body was welded to the pan. =(

  • This is a great video! I learned a lot from it! Thanks for not killing us with too many popups! (joking). I will eventually do a full renovation from start to finish, but for now, have a 74 super in great shape and a 69 beetle being fully restored by a friend in a garage in Texas.

  • @d3w4yn3 - Very cool. You'll have to upload a video of your '69 when it's all done... Or, progress videos too! =)

  • I love your stock wheel caps and the blue paint job. What color blue is that?

  • @moofushu Looks like standard VW Dove Blue to me. I had a '66 splitty in Dove Blue in the 1980's...

  • @moofushu - It's actually a Toyota color.

Paint Color: 2006 Toyota Scion TC color. "Hypnotic Teal Mica"

    Paint Code : 8U3

    Paint Brand: Dupont

  • superdope

  • EXCELLENT JOB BRO!

  • @NELODOMI1 - Thanks a lot!

  • AWSOME !!! 4 been solo.....GOOD JOB !!!

  • @VeeDubzBugz - Thanks!

  • Awesome video. I'm going to pull the body on my '71 standard in a few weeks and this will be very very helpful. Thanks a ton!

  • @jhzero0 - Excellent! Glad you found it useful.

  • Love the VW Signage!

  • @AZPONG - Thanks AZPONG. I like it too. Took me over a year to find this one. It's a real dealer sign, and still lights up. =)
