UPS transported one of the drills from USA and other countries gave Chile various ideas on how the operation could take place and different alternatives to proceed. @Algon28 As someone who works in shipping, with all carriers. I'll add that UPS moved that 13 ton, 26,000lb drill from Pennsylvania to Chile in under 45hours. This was the T130 Drill that bored the eventual rescue hole.

While Americans played several key roles in the sustainment of life(NASA, And Several Medical companies) and boring of the rescue hole.(Center Rock(Drill) and Schramm Inc(Drill Hammers). That was there role. Alot of them were home before the miners were out. The only American on the Miners when they came out were Oakley Sunglasses, designed to filter 99.9% of UV Rays.

@RonyMexico The Chileans enacted the rest of the rescue on there own. The pulley system and rescue capsule were built and designed on location by the Chilean Navy. The rescue capsule used one 1 of 3 designed. The other 2 serving as back ups. The 4 Paramedics and 2 Mine Rescue Experts lowered into the underground chamber were all Chilean. A father of one of the miners worked in the rescue under a fake name, because family had been prohibited from the rescue. And Pinera is a man of his word.

Kudos to the 33 Miners...who had to get along and adjust for almost 70 days 2000 feet underneath the earth.....I couldn't do it...I would have a panic attack or something...the Chileans are strong people...may God bless them..

If anyone is looking the video, here is the update to 9-25. 3 drills are working in a race for a rescue shaft. 3 different technologies with some problems each one (is normal). Miners are in permanent contact, even their children can see them at home through optic fiber images, and in site miners chat with their families. Now, the maths are pointing to November (the extraction will be made during the night). The Navy shipyard is manufacturing the rescue baskets.

The maths issue is not questionable. The reporter are talking based on the standard procedure of the drilling machine y normal conditions. I am Chilean and my authorities explained that drilling is not just divide the total deep per the deep drilled at the first day. You cannot schedule a drilling job considering the deep, a collapsed mine, and miners trapped at the bottom. Things must be done on the. Besides is better a long wait than an uncomfortable delay.

@onzeso you explained that well, i keep trying to explain to people it's not all about the money, if the choice was rescue them quickly and some if not all could die from a second collapse, or wait and get them out safely, the obvious answer is wait. they are getting resources, water, food, medicine, even some power sources, it is very possible for them to survive this. it is a disaster though because they aren't home safe with their families.

@meishappie Disaster is not a death toll, that is a tragedy. Disaster could be a hurricane or a tornado which made alot of damage even not killing people. The mine is no more for a massive collapse (maybe the earthquake at February 27th was a factor for the collapse, among of other mistakes). Perhaps "accident" would be a better word but accidents usually have a procedure to deal with but in this case is all new.
