  • awesome!!! Merry Christmas

  • HES PLAYING WITH ONE FRIKKING HAND! WELL DONE!

  • Are they seriously arguing about a sentence?

  • this is incredible! i hope to play like him one day

  • Hamerons lol

  • Comment removed

  • amazing!

  • Looks like the camera man started having a seizure from Trace's AWESOME skill

  • when i watched this i threw my wallet at the screen &,, my guitar in my mouth

  • Incredible! He is a wizard of the strings

  • Why do people in the audience is not crazy to see him live?

  • I just discovered Trace this past Christmas season but I keep coming back to watch it because he’s amazing. I remember thinking that it’s probably pretty hard to keep his guitars in tune because of the way he plays it. I’ve literally never seen this kind of playing before. So, it is a little out of tune but no less amazing to watch. I didn’t even notice that it was out of tune the first few times I watched it because I was sitting with my mouth gapped open in awe.

  • OMG you rock !!!! this my favorite Christmas song

  • You guys are ridiculous. I never said that I could do better or anything like that, just saying that it would be more enjoyable for me if the guitar is in tune. Sorry you guys had a little hissy fit. I could probably learn it, as I've learned dueling ninjas, but in no way do I think I could do better... you guys need to pull your panties out of the wad they're in and move on. Thanks.

  • excelente this is really uncredible, you really play guitar like a real artist

  • Good job! Is there a way to show us the notes at all cuz if there is could you please show us???? Thank u and great job!

  • Guitar is out of tune... :(

  • @chronicmango Ur fucking kidding me right.

  • @chronicmango who gives a shit...could you do better in tune?

  • do u want an apple pie wit dat !

  • @FatTonyCologino Question mark?

  • @Joshr13isaninja No it's an exclamation mark.

  • @FatTonyCologino Exclamation POINT* and it's defiantly a Question mark xD

  • @Joshr13isaninja Nope you're still wrong, that's semantics.(Question mark is actually interrogative point); I can say MARK* . Check the Wikipedia if you'd like. Anyway the point is that a question mark alone would not have displayed my exclamation. I could have added an interrobang !? however that would have been superfluous being that I didn't and still don't give a flying rat fuck about that sentence. Good day sir.

  • @FatTonyCologino

This has nothing to do with the video! Good grief.

  • @jonathanwmartinez Neither does that. If you wanted to comment on the video nobody was stopping you.

  • @FatTonyCologino Lmfao xDD You're probably right:3 Good day to you as well ^3^

  • @FatTonyCologino ummmmm, wikipedia is an awful source. but it may be correct i dont trust it. u want a database of some sort that cantbe edited except by an administrator

  • @iszou You can check any source you'd like the result will be the same.

  • very musical and unique

  • why does he need all those capos?

  • wowowowowowoowowowwwwwwwwwwwwowowowowowowowowowwowowow i love it im quiting im not good anymore!

  • he's so awesome he doesnt even need to flick the strings half the time. the guitar plays itself for him lol

  • somebody get him a baritone ffs

  • Cool playing but it sounds ugly for some reason.

  • @jimbobanalbeats i think its because the gutar is tuned so low.

  • @13randonLutz Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

  • @13randonLutz I think the capo is throwing a few strings out of tune is all, he needs a G7th capo!

  • @Zalera look how loose the e string isthough, its vibrating ridiculously lol

  • @13randonLutz When you use pick on the low E string the note rings out a lot more sharply. When you pluck with your finger the string can vibrate a ton and still not make much noise. I think that's what you're seeing :)

  • @jimbobanalbeats you really need about 50 diffrent instruments to play it properly.... he is using 1, give him a break

  • @jusm11 Um, no you don't. All you need is a great version. This isn't great, it's good. He's a very good guitar player, like I said. Tons of classical guitar versions with 10 times the power of this one.

  • what breedlove model is that guitar? looks and sounds amazing!

  • Nice work but it's so sad it has that horrible intonation and/or out of tune on some lower string...you hear it very much at 0.50-0.58

  • I do way better my guitar hero score is like 10000000 on this song!!!

  • @inshane1 good job, as a prize you get to drink bleach, feeg

  • He's sitting in a dark room practically in the fettle position with a very indifferent look on his face. Very Christmas like =(

  • do u have the tabs?

  • AMAZING

  • Great quality. :D

  • Oman. He is my idol I play guitar for 12 years now because of him. Although i do not shape my finger nails like he does. But that 6th string was just slightly out of tune and it drove me insane. But it doesn't matter cause trace bundy is the ruler of all that is guitar.

  • Good job man..excellent!

  • jesus christ anyone else get drove crazy from that top string being out of tune? every time he hammers a chord on the d makes me want to reach over and tune it for him.

  • @xXxPhilia i think it's in tune on the studio version. he put out a 5 song EP a few years back with this on it.

  • Its not even christmas yet but every time i hear this song it gets me in that christmasy mood :D

  • Trace Bundy rules the guitar world!!

  • He is amazing!!

  • 18 people dobt have a taste in good music

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • omg............

  • truly a virtuoso

  • did this make anyone else here start looking forward to christmas for some reason?

  • @fromb2b Dude hek yes it made me excited for Christmas. I'm gonna hire this guy to sit next to my tree and play this for Christmas eve and day. This is pure awesomeness.

  • wow. Just wow. Where can I see this guy play??

  • why does it make a sound by just touching the fret board??

  • @thetreethetree A series of hammer-ons and pull-offs. you just press your finger on to the string (hardly) and then pull it off!

  • @MusicianPaigeBurns yea thats true but eith a cable lik hes doin it its easier

  • @thetreethetree is just a style hammers and pulls ..

  • @thetreethetree called hammer ons. play 1 note then play another while the strings still vibrating by just tapping it. very simple once u get used to it

  • @ieatyellow yeah, but this is taken to the extreme....

  • jonathon, the soundhole cover is so that the sound doesn't "feedback" through the sound system. Although this guy could probably make that sound great too!

  • OMG THIS IS AMAZING.... !!!! I WANNA PLAY LIKE THAT..:0

  • @gabkstallworth i can do it u just need the notes a cable and u need 2 learn how 2 hammer and practice and youll do it just like him i can do it but i struggle a little

  • he did almost the whole thing without strumming shit

  • 17 guitar hero fan boys thought they could do better... how naive of them

  • @DBjorgo im in love with guitar hero but this is amazing

  • why does the sound hole have a cover on it.

  • @jonathancarlson16

    It's a Mic

  • that was dope as fuck!

  • *points at 1:01* That's what I like to do with the guitar, but I put the guitar down on the ground, and play it like piano |:-D

  • thanks for uploading

    this is soooo great -

    greetings Ernesto...

  • CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is a wow...he can incorporate all lines of the music..and like how he imitates the sound of the bells with a harmonic -super cool

  • great

  • there should be a lesson on how to do this!!!!

  • I'm just a simple classical guitar player... how is it that there are mulitiple... how... what in the hell is going on here?

  • what are you talking about?

  • How is he doing all of the other sounds?

  • E.g. 16 seconds into it, he taps the D string and then a desending scale follows but he's not doing anything. How is he doing that?

  • Nope he plays the whole thing, watch closely.

  • @Vanodi It's hard to tell but he is hitting those scale notes you hear with one of hit tapping fingers. I had to watch it a few times. That guy is talented.

  • -.- seriously watch my conversation with that guy again. I am saying that he IS hitting the notes, that was what I was trying to prove, so thanks for the thumb down on my comment.

  • Sorry dude. I meant to comment to ter1186. By the way I did NOT give you a thumbs down. I don't do that. I agree with you.

  • ok, it's cool. Sorry for blaming you on the thumbs down thing.

  • @ter1186 he taps it with his index finger dude :P

  • so u can u play the guitar with ur left hand too

  • Wait...WHAT!! Never seen anything like it!

  • lol

  • 1:56 he stroke wrong:P... you can see his face.. but in rest... sooper awesome cool!!!

  • not really i didn't see it in his face, it looked normal to me.

  • LOL he DID!!! then he quickly thought about it and fixed it. It actually seems like part of the song. what a professional. And his tapping is too clean..

  • Awesome!

  • shweet dude

  • Wow.

    :D

  • fantastique

  • Wow, awesome...

  • i think ima give up guitar now lol

  • me too...lol

  • @tdawg810 Yep...just burned mine.

  • @tdawg810 when ya hear stuff like this it just takes it right outa ya lol

  • @tdawg810 It's really easier than it looks. :P I've only been doing guitar for two years and I'd be able to do that. Given I had another few months to work at it. O_O

  • @tdawg810 he actually inspired me to pick mine up again lol

  • this guy looks a heck of a lot like Ted Bundy! Is he related?

  • NOOOOO! i wanted to be the one who did this one! he plays it a lot better than i could ever do...so its cool =]

  • Anybody else think his low E is out of tune?

  • i thought i heard that, but was uncertain

  • he has it tuned

  • omg...

  • Ding fries are done.

  • bloody amazing

  • Hahaha.

  • i don think you can. and looking at your profile one can observe that there is no evidence to back up your claim. one can also conclude that no one likes you.

  • who ya talking to mate?

  • blackadder733...

  • oh ok i thought i might've said something that ticked you off.

  • nope lol we're cool

  • Not that I have a hairy back but the hairs I do have definately stand up listening to this. It's Awesome.

  • he's so amazing i saw him live last year and it was epic!

but was it just me or were there parts where his guitar seemed out of tune?

  • I believe his E string is detuned making it sound strange but I believe he did it to make both a bassier sound and easier to tap, I could be wrong though

  • yeah i think actually he bends his strings a little when he plays on parts. listen from 0:51 to 1:05. not that its a big deal it just goes to show that no guitarist is perfect.

  • Especially for such a difficult version of this song, I thing we can let it slide haha

  • 1:41 LOVE THAT PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I know they didn't compose the song itself, but this version sounds eerily similar to that of the T.S.O's version....Brilliant in either respect!!!

  • Would love to see him play.

  • just.... amazing! :))

  • he's a mind freak.

  • simply amazing !!!

  • Yeah I understant , play two sound win the same time,,like piano in fact.

But how does he tap , I really don t understand.

  • Called harmonics bro. The theory, study, and practice of harmonics is a difficult technique and a unique challenge for guitar players. I cannot come close to doing the topic justice in 500 characters. Google :D.

  • ok, so it s neither naturel harmonic neither

artificial hamronic. Buut i think it s eaiser to play these harmonics on a acoustic guitar.

  • Basically, divide the string in half, and place your finger so it is BARELY touching the string and play the fret. You can also tap that same fret. Alternatively you can place your finger in the fret and strum with the thumb (same hand) to get the sound. In Standard tuning harmonics are all over, easiest/main are Frets: 5,7,12,15,17

  • No. These aren't harmonics at all. He has an electric pickup that makes his tapping of the guitar much louder. This technique is simply called 'tapping' not harmonics.

  • Actually, he does play a lot of harmonics. Most of the song is tapping, but he plays a lot of harmonics in there too, especially at the beginning. You can still play this song without an electric pickup and hear everything fine. At the beginning when he strums with his thumb and pinky with his right hand, he is doing pinch harmonics to get one of the sounds.

  • yeah about the harmonics.... do you happen to know how pinch harmonics work? do you just pinch at the fret bar? cuz that doesnt make as clear of a sound as a normal harmonic....

  • Yeah mate pinch harmonics are mainly done with distortion so you'll need a amp and electric guitar a pinch harmonic is when you strum on any note (sound is most prevailent when done on Estring on frets 3 and 5 imo) and as your strumming the string your fretting you rub the string quickly and lightly with your thumb it should give a shrill sound that sounds pretty tight while bending the note.

  • Well, if you get a 'true' harmonic it doesn't matter where you sound it, I've gotten, and getting, harmonics to sound great on the 24th of the 1st string, while on the neck pickup, so as long as you're hitting the right spot, it won't make a lick of difference if you have distortion or what have you.

  • Yes but a pinch harmonic isn't "true" harmonic your not going to be able to get a clear pinch harmonic note on a acoustic

  • huh? It's a true harmonic if it's played in the right spot; in fact I went downstairs just now, grabbed my acoustic, and can now say that, factually speaking, pinch harmonics do ring out clearly on an acoustic. They might be a bit quieter than their natural harmonic counterparts, but they're clear allright. Also, how is an acoustic guitar p. harmonic different from an electric guitar's p. harmonics? No offense, but I think you're trying to sound clever. All mouth and no trousers as they say.

  • Ok firstly lets not start insulting each other here I've played guitar for 3 years so i know a little here and there lol. I'm wondering if we're on the same subject but anyways to answer the question when playing p.harmonic on the acoustic it gets muffled because the harmonic's natural pitch and frequency doesn't get boosted by a amp's frequency making it kind of muted I'm not saying that you can't play p.harmonics on acoustic it just doesn't ring out as well.

  • Oooh, you meant that an acoustic's p.h.'s running through an amp are weaker sounding than an electric guitar's with distortion? Well why didn't you say so! Although that only happens if you have a mic'd acoustic, if you have piezo's im sure that you'll be ok in the p.h. department. If you are talking about an acoustic without an amp, on the other hand, you can hear it pretty clearly, no question. It's somewhat softer than the natural harmonic, but it's def. audible.

  • Maybe i'm too rough with my pinch's because when I do it on my Ibanez acoustic it just sound muffled all to hell.

  • Well, you do have to be pretty proficient with it, I always keep my thumb super stiff so that I hit the harmonic full force. maybe that helps.

  • Ah who knows but as a avid zakk wylde fan I don't think i'm doing p.harmonics wrong lol

  • Well, no offense, but it takes a LOOONG while to get ph's to sound great, and to do it flawlessly-and I didn't say you were doing it wrong, it just takes a while to get down 100%.

  • Oh I know once I get some time I'll post a video of a pinch harmonic riff.

  • Contempt is right, his guitar is custom made and had to be re fretted a few times because hes so rough on them with the tapping

  • thanks for watching..end thanks for share..

  • Keep up the good work.

  • BEAST!

  • is it hard to play 2 sounds on a guitar (you know what im trying to say)

  • Yeah

  • Just saw Trace at NAMM 2009. Truly AMAZING and a beautiful spirit.

  • does he have a christmas album? i would definitely buy it if he does

  • yeah he does, its on his website

  • nice ill have to check that out

  • king fries are done, king fries are done

  • Epic failure.

Ding Fries are Done, Ding Fries are Done.

  • nice
