Wow, I remember this! So long ago, I've even forgot all of the rules (I mean the arc of the arrows on the scout, for example). When I played this everybody said that it's like chess, but I strongly disagree. The game's no doubt intellectually stimulating, but the difference -- and it's big -- is that it is chance based whereas chess relies solely on mental strength/superiority (hehe). I say this as a big chess player. (Also, a difference is that those that pay get dragons(not good 4 my cleric =)

This game has SO MUCH potencial and yet the owners don't see it, the last update of the game was about 5 years ago, if this game was fully supported with update, it would get shitload of players, more units, different gameplays like team match, clan war ect... or who kills cleric first wins... the 30 day account delete makes u not want to play for stats, the gold members always jump grey, it should be a rule gold only play golds, it should also have levels where unit can upgrade, armor ect.

@Scot2hott2k9 =( I had no idea...would explain why I don't hear about it anymore though I haven't played myself since high school. I really liked it (I had a whole bunch of won-units too). Witch rush ftw lol! In response to someone else, yeah sucks to play against gold. The dragons kill clerics and witches way to easily and don't quite follow the same movement-based system.

this guys were noobs... they had a GREAT game! they could win a good money, but they prefered to lay on their sofa and w8 people to pay 5$ forever.. this game doesnt make a REAL update like 5 years. The table is grey from the begun.. even louzy chess game have more options... a shame.

You don't have to be lucky -- there's a list & they usually occur every 5 hours (with beasties around every 30). I'm giving up my acc tho so if any1 wants my acc on legends (with Beasty, muddy, witches, cleric, and furgon...& lots of useless pyros, bws, and chanties), I'll give away my username and pin. Just respond with ur IGN and perhaps we'll arrange it - at least I won't feel like all those hours are wasted...cuz I have a dropful acc be4 but I stopped playing and it got deleted after a month

Also, I'm happy because I just got a beasty (finally), but am much more satisfied by real modern games like Guild Wars (and to a lesser extent Warcraft III, especially the online games -- Hero Wars and 13th Vampire ftw!). When it comes to free online gaming however (which i cud do from a comp that requires low-level flash =) tactics works for me.

It is called Sin Bomb and the easiest way to do it...if you are able to, is to attack your sin with a pyro, after it is your turn again then you take your knight and walk to either SIDE of your sin and attack it. Your sin now only has 3hp and is ready to bomb. Be carefull how you go about doing it cus then u could just waste 2 turns and kill ur sin.

Also, by a witch/knight and then a pyro/muddy quake (for 15 damage). I find it sometimes self-defeating when i go out of my way to do this. It only works very well in the end game (when the magic units are cleared out), especially when (as I said before), I hit my sin with an LW and then heal so that it is @ 21 hp against 2/3 nights

unlike chess, luck is a really big issue in this game. i played it only for a day, and maybe i still didn't understand how to play it "right", but as much as i sew, the defender have advantage on then attacker, so both players can just stand and do nothing for a long time. graphically satisfying? dude, did you sew chessmaster 10th edition? mere game of chess? i guess you dont play chess, and if you do, it will be hard for me to believe that you a good player.

Valid point on the luck being an issue, used to be more so before they revised the blocking system... and the game will end in a draw if both players do nothing 3 turns in a row, or if there is no contact between units in 30 rounds.

and, you are correct in guessing that i dont play chess. (but i meant more graphically satisfying than a physical chessboard and basic chess set)

well, chess is better due to the fact that u cud actually get money if ur good and no need to grind (tho if u consider practice grinding i guess u do in a way). Plus, in chess u have a chess clock (if one of the two owns it) and u cud play blitz if u want. In TAO, it's super boring while ur waiting for the other person. Plus u don't get d/c'ed in chess. Come to think of that u shud be able to see how much time both u and ur opponent have left. TAO IS pretty fun for a free game but GW is better.

Hey man, i generally just play for fun, and dont worry about stats to much. stats arnt really the best way to calculate how good someone is. especially with noob jumpers and stat rapers. the only real determinate of a players skill is i think the experience in time they have played tactics
