  • for everyone who is abusing family guy, considering how many references to these films are in it, i think its more of a homage to it than taking the piss out of it.

  • hey i'm making a critique for this film, do you have some documents or reviews that might help?

I want to talk about how Americans looked at Moroccans (arabs) through this film

  • Family Guy better??? Seriously??? I think not. Bing and Bob Hope are one of a kind original . Family Guy is a joke! But hey what would a 20year old like me know as I am old soul and old movie buff. XD

  • They are irreplaceable , just re-release the original films, withBing, and Bobob.

  • Do you think the "Road To..." movies should make a comeback?

If yes, who would you like to see play Bing, Bob, and Dorothy's characters?

  • @GLUTEN88 Why try to improve perfection? Go watch the originals.

  • Gay, anyone?

  • @96gunit you're an idiot

  • thumbs up if you knew about this great song before fucking family guy

  • @ThatBoySunshine Amen, Sir ! Thank you.

  • @ThatBoySunshine Wow. Waaaaay before! Still like the Stewie-Brian parody though ;-)

  • @ThatBoySunshine

If it wasn't for Family Guy, I wouldn't have found these two wonderful actor. Thanks to Family Guy, I can't stop listening to them and I've started watching all there "Road to" movies.

  • What a fun duo they were....

  • family guy's road to road island is better

  • @madden8021 the family guy version is only better b/c of the better quality sound and it was made 50 years ahead of this movie, for its time its great quality

  • This is great, but I love the parody Family Guy made.

  • NO singer can ever sing like Bing... I mean his modulation.. and emphasis on the notes...

  • I love when Bing sings, "For any Villians we may meet, we havent any fear" and Bob sings, "Paramount will protect us cause were signed for five more years" then sneakingly he raises his hand and raised two fingers[representing two years]! I dont know why but I found that very funny. You just got to love Bing and Bob when they are together! :)

  • @bubbbb0 lol, that part really is great XD Those two are the greatest :)

  • I miss Bob and Bing :(

  • This isn't gay at all and neither is an Omar Khyam volume for your cousin Julia. Haha - cool song actually and thanks :)

  • Not an attempt on blasphemy but.. I like the Family Guy version better.. I am sorry..

  • All family guy songs are from old movies... like:

    shipoopi

    road to rhode island

    mr booze.

  • I'm only here because of family guy

  • In all fairness, yes Family Guy is stupid but if it weren't for their crappy parody I wouldn't have seen this movie.

  • @mrthebelmont road to road? great flick. lol

  • Please dont mention Family Guy and the "Road" movies in the same sentence....

Mcfarlane disgraces himself by stealing material from them

  • @keithsmove Its not disgrace. He's trying to bring it back, too the new generation. I bet half the people here came from Family Guy.

  • No one really appreciates what a sensational singer Bob Hope was, not to mention a fantastic dancer. Hope's singing makes these duets with Crosby magical.

  • tthumbs up if you came here after hearing *Road to Rhode Island*

  • One of the funniest movies ever.

  • The question is if they are in Morocco why are they on a camel that lives in China?

  • Lol, this was the best! Lol, it's great that they look through the camera into the "audience" and how they get out of camera! I just love their "Road To" movies!

  • Like a complete set of Shakespeare that you buy

in the corner drugstore for a dollar ninety-eight

    We're Morocco bound

    OR!!

Like a volume of Omar Khayyam that you buy in the

department store at Christmas time for your cousin Julia

    We're Morocco bound!!!

First time I watched this the "Cousin Julia" bit had me in creases, love these guys!

  • It was no Road to Bali but a fantastic movie none the less. I love Bing and Bob <3

  • Actually my dad has this song on his iTunes.

  • great Hope & Crosby! :-)

  • LOVE this movie =D

  • thumbs up if family guy brought you here!

  • All the Road pictures rock. <3

  • More like Road to the Fourth Wall, which they broke.

  • What makes the Road movies a cut above other comedies of their time (or even now) and so thouroughly funny/enjoyable, is all the fun inside jokes that Bing and Bob slip in there. Their running commentary ( ie--"We're bound to meet Dorothy Lamour") is equal parts satire too--not just gags--though there are plenty of those, too. The audience is in on the fun. So hilarious. Woody Allen says Bob was one of his greatest inspirations.

  • OFF ON THE ROAD TO RHODE ISLAND <3

  • @SamLovesFriemds I guess I shouldn't ask you, but noone seemed to know the answer yet.

Is the song "Awfully different" also a tribute to an old song such as Road to Rhode Island to Road to Morocco?

  • @Naba008 wtf i don't know ? :L

  • @SamLovesFriemds Eh, alright. I just thought you might now, if you know this song and the Rhode Island one.

  • @Naba008 i'm a 14 year old girl who watches family guy, i just thought i would check out the original song, mate ;)

  • @SamLovesFriemds Why do 14 year olds watch family guy, though? I mean, seriously, isn't it inappropriate for that age?

  • @Naba008 well it's rated a 15, so i guess we're all rebels.

  • @SamLovesFriemds I thought it is 18 - or 16 at the very least.

  • @Naba008 well my friend has all the dvds & they're a 15 ;) besides, do you really think teenagers give a crap about what's "inappropriate"?

  • I'd enjoyed hearing this song since I first heard it when I was 9. This is my second favorite road to movie next to Road to Bali.

  • yea Morocco is coolest middle eastern country

  • Thanks for posting!

  • m mo mor moro moroc morocc morocco morocc moroc moro mor mo m
  • Amazing! The direction and the chemistry make them convincingly look and act like a gay couple!

And if any of you who think I'm defaming Crosby and Hope need to get your head examined to get over your homophobia.

  • @EdM021 I don't perceive their chemistry as indicating their acting like a gay couple...I see it as just two friends on a camel, singing a song to pass the boredom, Just because two friends sing on a camels back certainly doesn't mean they are gay. They could be gay...but they certainly don't have to be.

  • @Fenderkicksass That's why you have to add direction.

  • @EdM021 LOL...haha thats not bad.

  • @EdM021 Ed, you're barking up the wrong tree here w your comment. Bob & Bing are just a couple of buds who enjoy (not always!) each other 's co. They can go off on adventures that they wouldn't be able to do w a woman--she might be a liability on a camel. Straight men have friendships like this w special guy in their lives--sharing stuff--that they couldn't w their wives. I think a gay couple would act a bit diff here--& I'm not meaning effeminite. I'm gay, so you can't call me homophobic.

  • Great chemistry with these two. Thanks for post.

  • Thank you forever Bing and Bob :)

  • god bless morocco

  • the second guy reminds me of Graham Norton :]

  • Am I the only one that thinks not only were they amazing singers, but also drop dead handsome?

  • @SpockLover27

    Yes, Bob was handsome.

    But Bing. . .

    Bing Crosby handsome?

    Phooey on that with.

He was drop dead gorgeous!!! No one could have more beautiful eyes back then or today.

  • @JohnSilverfan01 Lol yeah, I just have a soft spot for dark eyes, and boyish smiles. That's why I've always adored Bob just a little more then Bing. Yes he was gorgeous, but in my eyes, Bob was not just gorgeous, but drop dead hott too, lol

  • @SpockLover27 Hope you'd like to know today was Bob's birthday. ^_^

  • @JohnSilverfan01 Awww really? daww Much love Bob! You were a darling man <3 (Thanks so much for telling me.) <3

  • @SpockLover27 Actors back then, no matter who they were or what role they performed, had a charm that's lacking today.

  • @anonymous39120 It's a shame it hardly happens now days... No scratch that, instead of waiting for our actors to get awesome, just send me back in time. :P

  • @anonymous39120 Isn't that the truth.

  • @SpockLover27

no you're not sir... no you're not...

    lol

  • @SpockLover27

    yes i agree with you.

  • @SpockLover27

You're not the only one ;)

  • exactly one person is a complete retard?

  • Great transfer! Looks better here than on the big screen. We need LOTS of Crosby & Hope talents today.

  • Doing all the roads before anyone else...

  • "Like a complete set of Shakespeare that you buy at the the drugstore for $1.98." Haha, I wish!! :)

  • The 30s & 40s really had a fascination with Exotic-locales

  • The most perfect comedy film ever!

  • @ultimatedreamer09, omg! i totaly agree, i saw it and it was the best! "hoot mon! out'a tha way, who do ya think ya arrrrre?" :D

  • "i'll lay you 8 ta 5, that we meet Dorathy Lamour!" thats awesome!

  • LOL :)

  • what movie is this? i like classic movies.

  • @YoivaporuncaminoV2

This movie is called The Road to Morocco. It's part of a series of "Road Trip" movies by Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. This is probably the best one, but they're all a fun watch!

  • @YoivaporuncaminoV2 Road to Morocco

  • Haha, "Paramount will protect because we're signed for five more years." Bob hope is the best.

  • I saw this on Turner Classic Movies on Sunday. Laughed out loud!!!! Why can't today's comedies be this funny?

  • Like it.

  • @dycarbon1 I don't think MacFarlane would agree with you.

  • @paxe1 i agree did you here the audio commentary on the family guy DVD

  • @dycarbon1 Actually, not better than crosby. Crosby had an extra bit in his voice that I have not heard from anyone else. Crosby's the best voice in the history of Western music.

  • So now I know where Family Guy got the Rhode Island Bound idea. Both are brilliant.

  • Bing Crosby and Bob Hope lol

  • Love it! This is my favorite "Road" movie.

  • for your cousin julia!

  • They were hysterical, i loved it when they said paramount has them signed for 5 more years and bob held up 2 fingers haha!!!!!!

  • happened to stumble across this movie on AMC or something like that over our anniversary weekend while listening to jimmy buffett's "bars" cd. what made this event even more funny was that "why don't we get drunk" came on as this scene started. it's no pink floyd "dark side" and wizard of oz, but it sure is funny.

  • Who needs the Sex and the City girls in the Middle East when we've got Hope and Crosby!

  • i just love this movie. and bing crosby and bob hope are great together.

    i sure miss them both

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this!

  • Thaaaaat's... some surprisingly racy humor!

  • Great, great, great!!!!!!!

  • these guys are having real fun. just look!

  • I'm heading to Morocco in a few weeks and I am definitely gonna be singing this on the flight.

  • the greatest duo of all time classics cant make them like this any more wouldnt no how to

  • i'm also here cause of Family Guy! but, is that Bob Hope and Bing Crosby?

  • haha im just here because of Family Guy! :D

  • I keep wanting to sing that song from Family Guy XD

  • you have to love those one liners bob throws out there

  • love it

  • Comment removed

  • "Paramount will protect us 'cause we're signed for five more years." Haha, I LOVE Bob Hope.

  • I heard mp3iiify is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iiify.

  • Whats the best way to find mp3iiify to download this mp3? Someone told me to google mp3iiify.

  • We're off on the road to Rhode Island

  • This was also made parady of on Family Guy (Road to Rhode Island)! Great tune!

  • Best of the road films, I believe. I love how they have no problem breaking the fourth wall. They don't do that enough in modern films. Poor Bob Hope. Crosby is such a horrible friend to have. He's always stealing his girlfriends and getting him in to crazy situations. :D

  • Stewie and Brian!!!!!! haha

  • Totally!! That's what I thought when I first heard the song.

On another topic, it seems that Bob always looks @ the camera while Bing only glances 2 the camera!! Where's ur professionalism, Bob!?

  • Bob is just a great big ham, don't let it bother you.

  • Genius then. Genius today. Genius forever.

  • haha now i have Family Guy in my Head xD

They are like Brian and Stewie

  • I always figured Bob Hope would be sitting in the back. He seems like the "pitcher" type.

  • @cokedealer695

haha...No shit! And all these idiots can't handle the truth so they give you thumbs down!

  • Man, I sincerely hope you're kidding. Normally I wouldn't ever think you could be serious, but this is Youtube.

  • Haha, don't worry, I was just joking. The hope for humanity is not yet all lost.

And yeah, being sarcastic is tough in text. I'm not even sure if the guy I replied to was kidding or not.

  • This was filmed way way before family guy so how in the hell did they rip off family guy

  • The Road movies with Bing and Bob were pure entertainment. Road To Morocco is one of the best movies of all time. Bing and Bob were two of the greatest entertainers of all time.

  • I love these movies ahh and I'm only 24

  • latifa4800

I love Morocco .i m from Morocco and i Like the song a lot keep me smiling .We still like that ; )

  • @latifa4800 where in morocco ...im from taza

  • iam from morocco its relly great country

  • @nabbe145 Rabat, Casablanca, or Tangiers?

  • Once of the funniest films ever made, endlessly breaking the wall between the audience and actors with sly, sardonic glee!

    Lovable mad men!

  • Anyone know which Road Movie had the lyrics

    You won't say yes

    And you won't say no

You let my poor heart pound

    But you smile at me

    And around I go

    On the merry-go-run-around

  • Sure do that would be the road to Bali

  • Oh thanks - any clips of this on youtube? Better still i'd just buy the movie!

  • You can buy it on ebay for like 5 bucks.

  • @teewoods

I know this is kind of a late reply but Road to Bali is in public domain, you can download it for free on sites like the Internet Archive :)

  • According to google it seems to be THE MERRY-GO-RUN-AROUND - From the movie "Road to Bali"

(Johnny Burke / James Van Heusen)

    Bob Hope & Bing Cosby

  • i love this song

  • Bing mixed a little vodka in his minute maid OJ and it made him a bit edgy

  • Bing calls Bob junior but he is only a few weeks older it is a running in joke in the road films

  • They did not hate each other--they even lived together in England when they were making a 1961 film and were planning a film when Bing died in 1977. Bing would not have been jealous of Hope. Bing was the top movie star of the 1940s (# 1 from 1944-1948), top record seller of 1930s/40s 400 million in sales. Bing won an Oscar in 1944 for best actor. Bing had the top radio program in the 1930s/40s. Hope came in second to Bing in that era. Hope later eclipsed Crosby from the late 1950s on. .

  • Bob's face at 1:38 is amazing.

  • They certainly didnt live in each others pockets when not working together but i read somewhere that long after the Road movies had finished a kind of reunion show was arranged for the old crowd but Bing did not want Dorothy to be involved. She never understood why and neither did Bob..... I wonder what went wrong.......

  • To say they hated each other is RIDICULOUS. The song is from the movie of the same name, Road to Morocco. Very funny movie.

  • it's from bob hope

  • what is the name of this movie?

  • This is funny, there are no two-hump camels in Morocco or the Sahara, it is too hot for those furry camels. They belong in Mongolia, far away. lol

  • Its a movie, it doesn't have to make sense.

    haha

  • love these guys!

  • on the road to rhode island

  • that's what i was just thinking

  • @ionthegravity Get that shit out of here.

  • This is also my fave "Road" movie. With "Utopia" also coming in second.

But also Road to Singapore and Road to Bali were also good.

Sometimes I feel so out of place. I love movies like this even though I wasnt born till 1980. My family swears that I've been reincarnated lmao

  • Same here :)

  • I know exactly what you mean. I've been told I was born in the wrong time, cause I've always loved all this kidna stuff

  • People tell me that all the time too!

  • Son of Paleface is my favorite Hope film -- one of my favorite comedies ever. There's a cameo from Der Bingle, too.

  • This is my favorit "Road" Movie! :D Love it! ROFL!

  • These two are a great team, and this is my favorite "Road to" song. Love the way Bing keeps fluffing the camel's mane!

  • That poor camel - he looks hungry.

  • I imagine the "meta-humor" of this film (and the others in the Road series) must have really turned people's heads around in the '40s.

"Utopia" is my personal favorite, but this one's not too far behind.

  • I love this movie. <3

  • I love this movie

  • LOL!!!! One of the best Road movie songs!!!! LOVE IT!!!

  • they did this on family guy

  • im going to be honest, i never heard of this until Family Guy remade it. But now that i know this one, i like it better. Also, (please, nobody get angry and mark me as spam or something) i think Bing is waaaayyyy better than bob, i dont really like bob hope's voice. Sorry, just my opinion.

  • Ha, yeah I like Bing more as well, but they're fantastic together!
