Dude, a machine that chips entire 75' tall, 24" dia. trees fed horizontally is called a whole tree chipper (1,100 hp Morbark). A tub grinder is fed material vertically. You're holding on to your wrong-headed position like there's money involved. If a horse skids logs is it then called a skidder? If you pry something open with a screw driver is it then a pry bar? Now I am no expert as to what machine is which but from Google images and a little bit of what I have seen while living in Oregon, a log loader, and an excavator don't look so different. To me it looks like one has a bucket and the other has a claw. Clearly these machines were designed to be multi-functional, or else it would be a waste of money. Also I do believe a front end loader is what they use to load dump trucks when hauling pit run. But again I am no expert.

But there definitely is a difference. There's a myriad of attachments for excavators. The machine in the video is the dictionary definition of a excavator.
