Ronnie did a concert in our town not too long after the song came out. I was 14 and got to show his manager how to get to our local airport. Mine was the first hand he shook when he got out of plane. I got to sit next to Ronnie in the car to a local radio station and to the concert. Also got to hang out back stage during the concert.

How many of you out there felt you were destined to marry Elvis just like me? Imagine my shock to learn Elvis was gone when I was only 14 years old. "But he can't be gone, I was supposed to marry him." Ah, but childhood dreams aside, Ronnie does a fanastic job singing like Elvis and also great in his own singing style. He's also a very kind person who I had the pleasure to meet in the 1980's. Great performer!

I miss my mom when I hear this song. When she was alive she told me a story about her mother(my grandmother) who loved Elvis, when she played this song for her mother and asked her who she thought was the singer. My gram said, "its obvious, Elvis Presley". My mom said, "Are you willing to bet on that". long story short, Mom won a dollar and ronnie gained a new fan. love and miss you Mom.

I remember the day Elvis died. I never cried so much in my entire life. Such a special man with a beautiful voice. I was 18y/o when he died. I cried even more when I saw Lisa Marie and Pricilla on tv. Life doesn't seem fair sometimes. And I remember when Ronnie came out with this song right after Elvis died. He's the only man I've ever heard who sounded so much like Elvis. While Elvis had a beautiful voice, it was also his personality that made Elvis.I will love you forever Elvis! R.I.P.

Ronnie did a concert in our town not too long after the song came out. I was 14 and got to show his manager how to get to our local airport. Mine was the first hand he shook when he got out of plane. I got to sit next to Ronnie in the car to a local radio station and to the concert. Also got to hang out back stage during the concert.

The reason Elvis covered black music was because he loved it. He didnt take anything away from the original artists that sang them first. Plus, he sang it in a different style. Hound Dog was originally a blues song written by Leiber and Stoller not Thronton. Elvis did it like the version that Freddie Bell and the Bell Boys arranged -not Thorntons version-which was a minor hit 4 years earlier.
