Yea ran 9.9 in semi-final and shut down 15 meters from the line and then he ran a 9.95 in final. I think he did'nt have his best start and kind of gave up on the last 30 meters seeing Bolt flying the track. He was up to running 9.75 had he choked.

Running is that kind of a sport where the technique can EASILY break down. When you try to much it can shatter. AND that happened in 100m final few days ago. Not that Asafa had the pace to beat Bolt, but he would've got the silver medal with 9.70-80 time.

I'm glad that he got the 4 x 100m gold. You saw how he ran there? He didn't have the pressure and he wasn't trying too much like in 100m final (which really slowed down his speed) and bam, world record and nobody even near.

i think its less of mental toughness than it is conditioning. he just didn't look like he was in shape during his run. he definitely needs to run 500m's during practice and at least 200m's during regular meet competition. he just seems to lose stamina after 60m, and when he saw that he hadn't beaten Usain 60m into the race he just gave up, plain and simple.
