im not being critical of phil specifically, but why do people always break mob spawners? they make such good traps and you only have to note it and leave one torch on top of it to stop the spawning.

Actually the minecraft gods wanted to Phil make his house there because of the lava so when Phil heard the lava he would go to investigate but later find that there was a dungeon with supplies to help him thus giving confidence to survive and be brave... Phil was brought there for a reason.
