It's weird. I remember hearing this song a lot on the radio when it first came out. Then all of a sudden, I stopped hearing it and have rarely if ever heard anything by Ringo on top 40 radio since then. I don't know what happened. I agree it should have been a hit.
Many people say that this was the beginning of Ringo's musical downfall. For me tho, the albums ROTOGRAVURE, RINGO THE 4TH & BAD BOY are perfect late 70's classics. Then again, I grew up with these albums, so I may b biased somewhat. : )
Had this 45 when I was a little kid...sounds great!

If I am not mistaken, Ringo did film an extremely rare video for "A Dose Of Rock 'N' Roll" that may have gone unreleased.

My favorite song on this album is 'This is called a Song' written by Eric Clapton becuase it has a great guitar solo and great drumming.
Dose of Rock & Roll is the best song for parties in the 70's and today.

Ouch. I happen to dig the 1976-1981 period of Ringo's albums. They can be easily trashed by wrong thinking. Did that sound wrong?

Un des meilleurs titres de Ringo Starr. C'est pour moi LE meilleur titre qu'il ait jamais fait. Peter Frampton au solo de guitare !
