  • HAARP AND CHEMTRAILS MUST BE STOPPED! Do something against it, Greenpeace! Don't deny it! It's real and you know it and you do NOTHING! That's a crime!

  • This video is correct but how ever it's not limited to beethoven's 5th symphony. It's any loud upbeat music.

  • I've got to be honest, I'm INCREDIBLY skeptical about this. However, it's still a brilliant message, and a great cause!

  • NASA has compiled a report stating global warming is real and needs to be dealt with

    climate(dot)nasa(dot)gov/evidence/

  • This is so true... I've been listening to beethoven and wow..

  • i would have a debate with people on youtube about climate change of how it is all propaganda bullshit come on start commenting

  • I just bought a COMPLETE record set of Arthuro Toscanini's Beethoven recordings that was issued in 1954 by RCA. It was for 10 dollars :) I am reusing stuff people left behind, so that is green don't you think? :D

Having it on vinyl will prolly really enhance my thought with all of it's subtleties.

  • Bach is way better

  • I want to make a video like this. what program did you use to make this?

  • We have a ball of flaming plasma in the sky, that comprises more than 99% of our entire solar systems mass, has sustained a fusion reaction that's lasted for billions of years, and will last for many more, and produces enough energy to project heat 1.49 million kilometres through a VACUUM... And you think a little carbon dioxide is the cause of our changing climate?

Quite frankly, it's arrogant to think we could do so, particularly in the 50-70 years we've been industrialised.

  • What the Fuck?!!! Just shut the hell up and enjoy Beethoven's brutality without adding some pussy environmental shit!!!!

  • Is there an mp3 of that recording of the symphony?

  • Just soms greenpeace commercial..

    Leave it..

  • For it to be a commercial it would have to implement commerce... wich simply does not exist in this case.

  • we shouldn't fight the climate

if we do that we are figthing against nature, and nature always win...

we must adapt to what Earth is doing and going to do,

ofcourse we should protect us against water, or that kind of things, but we musn;t change nature, its wrong,

the Earth is one big endless cycle we are just a part of it. and maybe we make the circel goes a little little little bit faster, ofcourse dumping chemcial stuff in lakes and rivers os wrong and goign your trash out of the car...

  • The problem is not the dumping only... Lot of materials we use are chemically driven to a result that wouldnt occur without our help.

We learn that in grade 7th here, Natural Changes and Artificial changes there is a BIG difference.

So we have this atmosphere that was specifically design to protect us from some of the suns radiation... what do we do, we use nuclear reactions that creates those radiations to power our computers.

We modify the Genes of our food.

  • My point is.. WE ARE fighting the climate and what Greenpeace is asking is that we stop doing so.

What if we broke the cycle... and dont ever forget that Men is part of nature and needs to be part of the balace (homeostasis). It has been observed in almost closed biospheres that Men is often the first to break this balance and trigger the downfall of Homeostasis.

In medical terms it almost sounds like i described a cancer.

  • we really shouldnt fight the climate but the climate change =) "we mustnt change nature" - agreed 200%, but what else are we doing when cutting down rainforests, polluting the air and the soil and whatever or with nuclear power stations..."we must adapt to what earth is doing" - unfortunately the earth is adapting to what WE are doing...at last to a part of it. so....maybe think again ?

  • I agree. As a young scientist, you can easily refute global warming, and come to know that all this hooplah is really about depopulation, which young people don't get.

  • thepalmetto, I think you have some stuff backwards. I understand your denial of the effects of greenhouse gases but don't go misquoting national geographic.

  • I don't think youtube allows links to be put in the comments because it only allowed my comment after I deleted the link. Anyway, it just got posted on their website today.

  • I went over to the nat geo site because I was curious what they had to say:

"Scientists have spent decades figuring out what is causing global warming. They've looked at the natural cycles and events that are known to influence climate. But the amount and pattern of warming that's been measured can't be explained by these factors alone. The only way to explain the pattern is to include the effect of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted by humans."

  • Greenpeace, they're almost as idiotic as PETA. Playing Beethoven's 5th isn't going to make anyone want to save the planet any more than they already would have. You want to save the planet? Plant vegetables. Plant seeds. Plant trees. Plants cleanse our atmosphere. Music, though entertaining, does not.

  • Haha, god these environmentalists must have no lives. Stupidest idea ever: "save the Earth by playing Beethoven." Although I did once remark that Beethoven's 5th does sound like "the symphony that could save the world," especially the 4th movement. Saving the world, however, would mean getting rid of lying organizations like Greenpeace.

And the idea of classical music making people think better isn't true. It's been debunked. It's still the best music, however.

  • The problem with GreenPeace is that they are against some practical methods of renewable energy, such as Wind Farms, Nuclear power, and various other clean sources. By the way, the recording of the "Symphony No. 5" at the end is in the wrong key entirely.

  • you're definately right man; i also noticed it was the wrong key.

  • maybe it's a period-instrument recording...either way this video is a totally ridiculous idea.

  • yeah i totally agree

  • Nuclear power isn't a clean resource!

Would you want to live next to a nuclear power station?? I certainly wouldn't

  • It's actually the CLEANEST and most efficient resource other than hydrogen.

  • Oh yes, it is very clean! I remember Chernobyl cleaned the whole area... from people!

    You're soooooooo right!

  • When it is used CORRECTLY, it is very clean. It's hard to do, but it can be remarkably clean and efficient.

  • Right! It's POSSIBLE... but what about byproducts? We send them to third-world countries and our conscience is clear!!

  • Wow, I never knew this... and my friend and I have the first and second violin parts of the original too! I don't know if she'll want to collaborate though...

  • stupid twats that call anybody who thinks outside the box a hippy. oooh your a hippy fnar fnar. get a grip. twat.

  • agree with you man

we all know that with higher thought we would create things that would encourage 'climate change', that's a myth hahahaha

  • oh..god..i saw. all...ur videos..

    my god..

    im gonna help..

    by my own..

    i love greenpeace ..n love my planet..thanks

    a lot..

  • Greenpeace FOAD!

  • can somebody translate this video, please? (I am spaniard)

    thanks!

Con las del verbo "to do" (do, doing, does y did)

Creo que se nota la GIGANTEZCA diferencia.

Bueno, suerte con tu aprendizaje y, por favor, no pagues para aprender el idioma más fácil del mundo, investiga un poco y verás que no exagero.

  • greenpeace you did it again!

  • thank you, Greenpeace for accepting me as your friend.. at times when politicians & corporates don't care it's up to individuals to help.. Google 'Stop Global Warming' for a platform that started from scratch.. now counting more than a million virtual marchers, incl. myself, Al Gore, Richard Branson, Leonardo DiCaprio you name it ;-)

  • cool!

  • sure this is interesting but wat the hell ask people to actually do something not to listen to some music and then make them think themselves of wat to do

  • thanks all who played the Beethoven's 5th Symphony for the climate.

all where good. I hope more join this one.

I cant self play any musical instument. But I love music.

    /Salemo from Sweden

  • This is funny because I listen to this EVERY day, I have it on my ipod and I never even knew this.

    GREENPEACE FTW!

  • I will defintly do this!

    :D

  • fantastic, I love it!

  • This is really curious as my new novel about climate change - 'The HaymakersSurvey' which launched on 1 May - features Beethoven's 5th Symphony near the very start of the story. It's under Question 12: Is our Earth Enchanted! You can see this at page 27 in the online sample! I made the promo video above over a year ago, as it reveals part of the plot. I'm sending John Suave a copy of the book today.

  • What exactly is the note pattern that causes brains to work better? Shouldn't it be the most public information ever if it makes people good because then other musicians could use it?

  • you are?

  • i hope more people hear about this

  • good idea, the message is nice

  • Just awesome! And the idea is worth!

  • cool idea!!!

  • I didn't know that I don't realy like classic music but its cool !!!

  • Yeah!

  • You are so right. Wonderful message wonderful video

  • muito bom! :)

  • Nice music but it's still not going to save the world...

    All begins within the SELF

  • Very interesting! Something to really

think about. Thank you for the info.

  • End useless war and stop over-consumption of food, fuel, energy, and corporate fodder!!

    BOTTLES OF MARY officially DECLARES

    ♥♥♥THE 2008 SUMMER OF LOVE♥♥♥

  • @manyonerise beat some mother fuckin hippes

tell congreass that idiots and feel gooders are the ones who belive in global bullshit

and start perparing to go to war with countries that hate us

even if the 5th sympotmy increases you to a higher level of thought i doubt it will make dumbass able to stop something that isnt even caused by humans

  • Muy bueno! Vamos Ludwing!

  • muy bueno!!

  • muy bueno!!!!!!

  • STOP CONSUMING THE VERY THING WE ARE TRYING TO PROTECT. We have the Power to Fix it as We caused It!

    PEACE and LOVE!

  • interesting....
