@ninjaabcde When you use the pedals, the plane rotates horizontally/ On the x-axis. Basically a turn without rolling the plane. Not very effective though.
this is an awesome fighter these guys were trained to fight out numbered so if theres a flight of four raptors and 8 SU-27s each raptor just needs atleast two
AIM-120 AMRAAMS to defeat them in BVR combat if not then some aim
College level education, officer school. Marine officers and pilots go through a hell-hole OCS school. Every Marine learns to be a rifleman first before he learns to be anything else.

Had the opportunity to meet Max this past weekend. A really great guy who does amazing things with this aircraft. For those that are saying this plane is "Junk" just come on out to one of the demo's and check it out for yourself. This aircraft is anything but Junk.
A state-of-the-art lethal and precise aircraft with internal weapons is the opposite of junk indeed. The F-22 is deadly and mighty. And of course...It's AWESOME!
It's a nice jet, but I wouldn't want to fly it, because I believe as a fighter pilot you should be able to have full control of your plane to do whatever you want and not what the computer wants to do. I personally prefer flying conventionally making the plane respond to everything that I'm doing when moving the stick, throttle and rudder pedals.
This is a great film interview. Wish I had the opportunity to film an interview like this. This pilot is very down to earth (no pun intended)and obviously enjoys flying the Raptor. Thanks for posting.
Report to US congress 2007 (GAO-07-406SP on page 78):
The F22 have at least 2 structural problems:
- The F22 have cracks (up to 18 cm)in the aircraft's aft boom where the horizontal tail attaches to the fuselage.
-The F22 have cracs in "titanium casting" materials near the engine.
A key reliability requirement for the F-22A is a 3-hour mean time between maintenance, but right now its LESS than 1 hour! The F22 is junk, its very unreliable!
There you are again Zeptocomp, picking and choosing "facts" to suit your biases, while ignoring other statments that would refute your claims. The report says the AtA milestones were met and the technologies are stable, mature, and have been since '03. The issues raised are in the AtG role, where some technologies aren't yet mature. JDAM delivery is stated to "mission capable". SRP is on track to address structural concerns, and will be done in about 2 yrs. Why not tell the whole truth?
He went through the Academy pilot track, so he had a much better chance, but AFROTC is still a great way to go. Good luck on that, my grades suck so my dream is gone.

Fighter pilots usually seem to be way nicer than officers in the other branches of the armed forces, it's like they didn't even go through boot camp
teopini 3 years ago
Hehe, you haven't met many fighter pilots, and most definitely haven't worked with them. :)
Most are cool, though, but there are ALOT of pri-madonnas
