I thought it was a good movie. I didn't like Fierstein much, but McKean was great, and John Goodman made the perfect Santa, as we all knew he would. I think they did a good job of slightly modernizing the story, and showing more of why Santa was growing so sick of Christmas. Plus, unlike the original, the new version actually shows Snow Miser fulfilling his end of the bargain by allowing Heat Miser to give the North Pole one warm, sunny day.

Michael McKeon was a good choice. When you see the role on paper you couldnt pass it up. Snow Miser is a CLASSIC and any chance to redo it is once in a lifetime. McKeon may not even have read the rest of the script and found out only later how dumb it was. But his general comic range matches the actor who originally played the part. They even sound alike.

The real problem real was the severe incompetence of the writers, who totally fumbled the pop-culture gold of the misers.
