We should remember that US already has the most liberal immigration policy of any developed country on the planet. We allow a quota of 1 million per year, this exceeds all of western Europe combined. Preference in law is rightly given in compassion to those in the greatest need and suffering the vilest of the human condition.
It would be immoral to allow illegals to usurp those quotas and displace legal immigrants who have been waiting for up to 10 years for their entrance visa.
Obama promised to bring our troops home if he was elected. But instead he INCREASED the number of U.S. troops overseas.
Obama is politically smart enough to realize that he won't be re-elected if he gives the illegals amnesty, etc.
And the Dream Act is a form of amnesty, despite what those trying to push it claim. Google search: N.Y. Times Big Whopper, and you will see what I mean.
The controversy ISN'T about immigration. Illegals aren't immigrants. An immigrant is one who enters our country in accordance with IMMIGRATION laws; hence: an "immigrant."
But a foreigner who enters illegally is an INVADER; hence: an "illegal."
Calling illegals "undocumented immigrants" is like calling burglars "uninvited houseguests."
So if you call them immigrants, then so too were the Nazis who invaded France in WW II.

I voted for him and have been a supporter since before he announced his candidacy. He better keep his word.
