    Wow eaten alive!

  • 1:21 GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! LMFAO

    RIP David Tomlinson

  • 4:58 When stuntmen had balls of steel.

  • No dice herbie wont stop aperantly herbie really wants to win.

  • Thorndyke & Havershaw disliked this video.

  • @bandittweintraub what did they not like about it?

  • @Ozzythenutter1046LS it was a reminder of their epic fail

  • Well thats that

    Now wha...AHHH!

    I can't weld THAT!

    That part cracks me up!

  • @5Mariner Me too!

  • aww i just love the herbie movies, they are my favorite movies of all time allothough the 1997 wasent as good as this one :P

  • Buddy Hackett cracks me up!

  • I saw this film when I was 3 yrs. even though I dont remember the whole movie, I do remember when Herbie broke in two, and that image kept me in my mind all those years. It was an awesome movie....and still it does to me. With this movie, my obsession for Volkswagen began...and I hope to get a VW....someday. Many regards from Luis Puntriano (Callao - Perú, South America).

  • The little car takes first...and third place. O_O

    LOL

  • 1:21 lol

  • Back in the 60s, Michele Lee was the "thinking man's" sex symbol...and by any standard, her beauty spans the test of time! (I had a big crush on her when I saw this movie as an 8 year old,,,the first film I ever saw without an adult [Me and my then 5yr old brother went to the movies alone, for the first time, to see the Love Bug!])

  • 3:08 Whoops! LOL!

  • Grew up loving this film!

  • would someone as tall as david tomlinson fit into the boot of a vw beetle in reality?

  • Thorndyke seems oblivious to Herbie hanging apart when he comes up behind him

  • What was the idea of Herbie splitting in half and how did they get the two halves of the car to move along so realistically?

  • @Ozzythenutter1046LS Behind the scenes, there were actually three wheels per car half. Two of them were the typical car wheels, and the third wheel was hidden in between and slightly in front/behind of said two. This arrangement allowed both halves to look like running on two wheels. Also, they had an extra engine built inside the hood compartment of the front car half. Pretty ingenious, huh? :)

  • @xxiaosaurus definately!

  • @xxiaosaurus its obvious more than one beetle was used to make this flm the beetles used in the racing scenes appeared bigger and winder than the beetle shown at the beginning and end of the movie

  • I'm still puzzled on how they made the car look like it's driving itself...

  • @loveanianimeme remote control!

  • What is the Name of the final song??

    It's Very Fantastic!! I love Herbie since i was 10.. maeby for this i'am a Tuner.. :D

Geroge Bruns is the compositor but i don't find that song..

  • @Bl4ck5kull69

Search "Herbie theme" on YouTube, than you can download it if you search "Youtube to mp3"

    hope that helps,

  • 6:20 - 7:07

    LOL at Thorndyke and Havershaw

  • 41 Years of Herbie.

  • Epic ending DX

  • 1:00 lol.

  • i think heebie let throndkye push him into that tree because herbie has a plan in order to win and by having herbie fall into that tree he created that crack and because throndkye was behind him he had tennesse cross the finish line for them to win

  • 1:40 David Tomlinson waddles like a penguin.

    HAVERSHAW!!!!!

    LMAO

  • throndike is really loco i love watching herbie fall out of that tree and having tennesse chase heribe

  • when the stunt double for Buddy Hackett was appearing to cling for dear life, he was in fact steering the rear half of the volkswagen, if you look very carefully I believe you can see the 3rd wheel & the stunt driver steering the bug half.. the roll bar was actually an ingenious steering mechanism

  • pause at 5:00 and you can see the third wheel.

Weird how the center tunnel stayed with the back for a while...

Actually why did he even split in half?

  • From an earlier repair Tennesee had to cut Herbies frame in two.

  • Huh? Man Tennesse must suck really bad at mechanics...

I can't even think of what you'd need to do that for.

Ahh well, Disney. Nothing beats pulling an EMPI rocker cover off a new beetle and sticking it on herbie, and it working, for sheer WTF though.

  • Well Herbie did conistantly hit a Jaguar E-Type, drove into an office corner trashcans, a pillar that held up the corner of building, then hung off a bridge so his frame could've been strained a little. Fully Loaded was truly too liberal though, unlike the other Herbie movies HFL was at a nascar track (yawn) and you'd think those sports people would've seen the racers bumping and bonking each other.

  • Also, Tennesee did say that he wasn't a mechanic, just a welder. And Herbies frame is mostly just his chassis and those to small sides of the sunroof so theres not much to hold him together.
