Pick up some hardware (Could just be an interface, but I like using a mixer, and an interface) get a mic, and pirate, or buy some editing software, and go it alone.

The underground music scene is thriving, you just need to know where to look, small labels pop up all the time, and the internet is an amazing tool to get out there.

I'm just saying, if you have a problem with the system, do something about it. Do it all yourself, maybe something will happen.
