First of all...Great Setup! I just have a question...why tune it that low for a daily driver? (please dont think im saying anything bad...im just curious) I like the 40Hz note for a daily driver and for my jeep it seems to be the resonant frequency (as far as i can hear without a meter anyway). Is the 28Hz just a personal preference or is there a benefit of running it that low in your setup. P.S. I also have that Kinetik battery...there isnt one better! I LOVE my Kinetiks
What size box is that? I'm getting a new box built and want it optimized to be louder/lower. My current box is 2.5 net tuned to 34 hz and it doesn't murder the lows like I want it to. How does your box sound playing rock?
Yea true, the guy who made the box for me put it on that side. I really dont know what the difference is, dd recommends the port on the side. I had it 3 different ways and i didnt really hear a HUGE difference. Thinking of putting a custom install later, kinda pricey for someone poor like me.
@chepsy i know its a while ago but when its not too close to the port its al OK. It will make the tuning slightly lower and makes a bit more ''use'' of its box where its in.
But i think it will sound a bit better when on the other side
@deathcrayon In this video its running off the stock alternator. Ive bought a HO alternator since then but been too lazy to make a video. Im running a DC Power Alternator rated at 300 amps. Holds 14.4 easily even when the car is running hot.
When i shot this video my alternator was dying and my deck only put out 2v preouts so i bought a rockford line driver and a new alternator to give my amp more juice and reduce clipping. Never put a video up yet.
yea, but most people know nothing about car audio, nor how to use it right, and recomendations are for those people... not because you couldn't use DD in 30Hz tuned box... it will work better in 38Hz box, but in other way that you may think
i dont use manufacturer recommendations for ANYTHING other than DD/AQ because they're subs are designed to not over-excurt when you play them under box tuning.
and i dont know if you were saying i dont know anything about car audio, cause thats the furthest from the truth
REALLY NICE SYSTEM, but you REALLY need to sound deaden your trunk!!!

jggunner7 2 years ago 10
haha holy shit am i jealous. whys your box tuned so low though? ive been told that DD's like 40hz tuning, 35hz the lowest
Krannyman92 2 years ago 10
yea thats true, but i guess i love the feeling of the low bass. gives girls orgasms.
chepsy 2 years ago
mines actually tuned to either 28 or 26, i dont remember lol
macdaddyd1 2 years ago 10
so not true
I know several with lower then 35, but depends on what you like and listen to
First2ner 2 years ago
dont get me wrong, itll work no problem and itll MURDER the lows. i just like to follow DD's recommendations

No, not saying that..
anyway, there is no lower limit, what you can tune them to, have seen and heard some setups like that with say around 32Hz tunings
