Hey, thanks so much for the tutorial. I was wondering if you could give me more information on your K&N Air intake. I've seen it on another BMW before but I never got to ask the guy about it. My OEM intake is starting to cough, and needs a replacement! Thanks!

  • @GaryH315223 What I did was replace the OEM filter with a K&N replacement. The air box is stock. It really does help the car breath better.

  • @edzgarage

Could you provide a link or product number? I too have a 2001 325i. :)

  • @GaryH315223 Here's the part number of the one I have 33-2231

  • @edzgarage

  • My first instinct would have been to tahe the headlamp assembly out.

  • @bugnutz43847683 My first time doing this I was so frustrated. Then I looked closer and found out how easy it was lol

  • Thanks a lot, it's easy when you know the trick!! I was going to take the whole head light out, you've saved my life lol :-)

  • @happypuffin It sure is! I was so confused the first time I did it.

  • Good job Ed. Car looks new.

  • @Chooman69 Thanks Matt. She is showing her age in spots :-(

  • Great stuff Buddy!! I might have to go and buy a Beemer just so I can fix it now!!☺

  • @805ROADKING I'll sell you one! lol

  • thats why i say the only good engineers drive trains :)

i had to change a girls headlight in a new volkswagon

and i had to make excuses why i was in the shop so long

scratching my head trying to figure it out . lol

  • @500passwords lol All aboard!

  • I really hate it when they hides things like that on cars. Great tip and thanks

  • @ShawnCFarm Thanks Shawn!

  • As soon as I had that fender off and sitting on the lawn I would have seen it!...LOL

Great video Ed..very good to know!..

  • @carnivore10 LMAO! Thanks Buddy!

  • What happened to the headlight lens? Did it get cloudy again? I think if you buff it with PlasticX it will be better :)

  • @xdarkdragonx01 Yes, the ultraviolet from the sun is fading them again. I will be refinishing them again. Does PlasticX protect plastic from sun damage?

  • @edzgarage I'm not sure if it will protect from UV, but this stuff works really well on headlight lens in sunny california. I think using a machine buffer is more effective than hand buff. Good luck!

  • @xdarkdragonx01 Thanks. I'll look into it.

  • Hmm, Pretty cool design...Them crazy Germans....

  • @IHcubcadet lol German engineering.

  • Very cool Ed! Thats easier than on my Chevy...LOL!

  • @mbyr31 lol yeah, it's easy, but I had a hell of time figuring it out the first time. Thanks Matt!

  • I love that car :)

  • @krupter Thanks Buddy! It's starting to show it's age now.

  • That's pretty Nifty the way they set it up to pop out.. You know what's even Niftier? Think of how much Money they made selling people those Expensive Fixtures because it broke when people tried to just Pry it out... Millions of Dollars!!! Thanks Ed.. This was really good info..

  • @vidman008 lol I bet you're right Ron! BMW is probably not going to like this vid... it's cutting into their replacement part profit lol

  • I don't even drive an E46 and while informative, it was also fun. Lol, for me, your another youtuber who can make a video on a sock and it'll be interesting, haha. Keep it up, Ed! :D

  • @ScoobyBaseball Thanks Buddy for the nice comment! This is why I keep doing these vids. I really do appreciate this comment... Sock video coming soon lol j/k :-))
