Without wanting to bash what you did, but i recomend windows users to NEVER use WLM because it's a huge security risk.

All windows computers i know of are using either amsn or pidgin (both open source). Windows Live Messenger is a liability even for windows systems. Don't use it ever!

Besides, using wine turns your computer vulnerable to windows viruses. Of course, it will only affect your wine installation, but nevertheless...

I'd love to use WLM on my Ubuntu, but it still have too much improvement to be done...

It lags, it crashes several times, it doesn't support gaming..

but the reason that i use the 7.5 version thats because live runs very slow and there is no auto-scroll..

7.5 runs a lot better, but still crashing a lot

It's not Linux's fault that you can't windows software on it. At least not all. No one is complaining about not being able to use windows software on mac, yet everyone complains about it for Linux. Use the alternatives. They are free, adfree and secure. That's the whole point of using Linux

I dunno about every linux user, but i use cause the Kernel is way better (may you like it or not) and i'm free to change things in linux the way i like it.. Windows is just like a prison.

Just as I said: Theres no point to use M$ software on linux systems. Why do you want to do that? If you dont like M$ software, dont use it, but dont show off that you are a UBER-LINUX-KICKASS-USER while youre spending your lifetime triying to install M$ software with WINE on it. Thats lame.

But i disagree when you say that it's pointless to use M$ software on linux. As you see, linux is my favorite operational system, but still i'll be forced to go through all the process of partiotining and installing an OS wich i don't like to use just to be able to use a program in it? for me, every option to run a windows program in linux (with or without wine) is great.

@tripylsd That's a pretty lame reason to use Linux. I'm going to be switching over soon because I'm developing for the PSP, which is much MUCH easier to do on Linux. So still being able to use MS apps is a boone for me.

@SkullXII Thats the point. Lots of people just use linux because they think that is cool (hackerz stuff and lame-i-believe-in-matrix-thing­s), but they still use WINE for everything. As you said, it's a pretty lame reason to use linux. You have a good reason and thats why Linux is your best option.
