  • Not sure if he is the same person, since Janaka's name is used for all those who were kings of Videha.

    Videha means going beyond body identification. So either it is sita's father or someone who was King in that Kingdom.

  • Janaka was indeed Sita's father. Ashtavakra became the Guru of Janaka (though young in age).
