Assuming meme theory is true and ideas that are good tend to be copied and replicated, it was inevitable that someone would invent, for perfectly logical reasons, a hat that resembled a cowboy hat, and it immediately spread like wildfire because cowboy hats are just that awesome :P

I think that this manages to use every single major Star Wars trope. Unfortunately, to me, the result doesn't feel like homage so much as it feels like a weak pastiche - it's trying too hard.

@CkMaverick No, it's job is to sell me on the game. It didn't do that (full disclosure: the beta sold me on the game). I recognize that it worked for a large number of other people, and on that level, it's a success. Personally, I found it shallow and empty. It was like watching the prequel trilogy again - visually great, it hit all the normal Star Wars beats, but it came across as entirely superficial to me.

Anyone else notice that Sith seem permanently stuck with the worst shooters in the galaxy as troopers and droids even thousands of years prior to Vader? those 4 troopers + 2 droids couldn't hit someone a short distance in front of them. He even made it easier by walking towards them in a straight line -.- . I can't wait to see whether we'll find out at some point just when in the history of the sith, that trend was established.

@bobohoover heh, I wish they'd go for it, but fat chance at that, Lucas is focused on what happens between E3 and E4 and making all 6 episodes 3D. Also, apparently he's got some 50 hours written so far for a series about Boba Fett (down and dirty style). Given his complete lack of interest for stuff that happens outside the Vader timeline, I don't think he'll give up what he's made so far for that period to pursue our interests.

Reminds me of the battle of Darth Maul dueling with both Qui-gon Jin and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Darth Malgus became stronger out of extreme rage observing his superior lose to the Jedi. I like how the cinematics are going backwards -just like the timelines.
