"our representatives have become mere representations." with the oversight power of the internet, i believe a more direct democracy is possible. mike gravel has proposed something like this. in any case, transparency is the key to good representation on capitol hill. and we are breaking down the barriers every day. but the more we can do ourselves and the less we have to rely on the middlemen, the better.

well, i understand where he is coming from. like he has said before, "if you can't protect life, you can't protect liberty." it is a slippery slope, defining the point at which life begins--and may open the door to genetic engineering/eugenics type situations. also, a libertarian does not believe the use of force is authorized except in personal and/or national defense. paul, if i understand him correctly, is not against abortion if it would protect the life of the mother.
Human life begins at conception...which is when the egg and sperm unite, the egg is cellular life,as is the sperm but once they combine the entire for human individual is there. It requires time and nourishment to develop just as a 2 yr old, or a 16 year old.
