utevon Demter is Munks mate , and Grizzabella is his mom. No one likes her cuz she ditched them to be famous, Wich ment her leaving Munk , but she is STILL his Moma , so he kinda follows after her.

Munkustrap looks like he doesn't know what to do when Demeter is singing to Grizabella. He follows a little bit Grizabella cause he looks like he feels bad for her but he then keeps looking back at Demeter like he's having mixed feelings. Poor guy! My favourite part in this scene is when Grizabella pisses off Cassandra because I don't like her. :) She's annoying and in the way, i wish she didn't come back when Misto made her disapear... Hehehe :)

I think Victoria, Jemima and Old Deuteronomy feel sorry for her, but Victoria and Jemima are blocked away by other cats.

It's not clearly mentioned in the show, but I guess it's because she is old and dirty to all the other cats, and her appearance probably is too bad for them to even want to approach her. Imagine an old cat with dirty fur and who lives in dark places -- they'd probably think she has some kind of serious disease.

She "was" a Glamour Cat, but at least technically she is not anymore (I figured it out from the line "Who would ever suppose that that was Grizabella the Glamour Cat?") She might be one when she was younger, as shown in her dance, but since she is the only old cat that is unwelcomed (which is rather ironic to her nickname "Glamour Cat").

Awwwwe, I always get all teary eyed when I see this part. I have a cat named Grizabella (after this character) becuase when I got her she was old (still is) and matted and had maybe 3 teeth in her mouth. She had ear and eye infections and just plain ol down and out looking. She had a way about her and still does today. She's not in the least bit cautious of anyone. She will love anyone who gives her the time of day and she purr's endlessly. So naturally, i named her Grizabella!

There is no deeper plot. Sorry to say it, but I learned in my acting class that when he was asked what the plot was he told the person "It is about cats." It is really a collection of poems from "Old Possum's Book Of Practical Cats". The poems aren't really ment to be a story. (At least not that I know of.)

Things going on in the background have given me doubt about whether or not it's just what it seems on the surface: an old cat finding redemption?
