  • If I remember correctly, the 289 heads are better than the run-of-the-mill 302 heads. It used to be that folks with a 302 were looking for the early 289 heads. However the Boss 302 heads are a different story.

  • @grampacanuck If i remember correctly, the Boss 302 heads is about the same as 2v 351 cleveland heads, i got a pair of -69 351 windsor heads for my 289 . From the mid -70 something the 302 and 351w heads was just obout identical i think.

  • Damn, listen to that idle lol.

  • nice looking/running engine! very neat and clean . don't change a thing .you have a winner here.

  • Should i keep my stock headers? I just bought a 66 mustang 289 and I cant make up my mind as far as what kind of shorty headers I should add, especially what type of dual exhaust. Can someone please help.......thank you

  • need headers!!!! haha

  • Great job!

  • Sounds good. Just a stock rebuild or any work done to the engine?

  • Honed cylinders, new piston rins, new bearings and alot of cleaning. The block is a 302 the heads are 289.

  • @sugaretspice I just missed out on a pair of Boss 302 heads on ebay that went for $349.50 with one bid. If only that auction had ran through payday!

  • @sugaretspice it wold be better if is a 289 block and 302 heads
