Wasn't too enthused by the song. I think anything involving MJ needs more "energy" to it if you know what I mean. But great vid and how could it not be considering that MJ was in it! Fuck a Black Mamba, MJ was a KING COBRA with a loaded sniper rifle/flamethrower!!
This was the loss that prompted Doug Collins to call a Christmas practice back in Chicago and Jordan wasn't having a change of plans for his family visit. So he told Collins he wasn't coming and practice was canceled right then.
That steal at 1:35 was so quick, so unexpected. MJ saw that pass coming a mile away. And his acceleration is unbelievable; It's like the reel was sped up.
btw that drive jordan did at the 2:20 mark is one of the sickest split dribbles i've ever seen...even though he missed the shot attempt...that dudes dribbling skills were extraordinary
what people don't get is that jordan played against the greatest defensive teams of all time during his era...but more than that those defensive teams all played in the same divison or same conference as jordan... meaning he would face those teams between four to six times a year and he would demolish them.
this game right here....is a prime example of the double teams jordan faced each and every fuckin night. they doubled him in this video as soon as he got the ball....so i don't want to hear the bullshit from the kobe faggots... not to mention the hornets were supposed to be a garbage expanison team lmfao.
the quickness of the moves is unreal and it looks so smooth and silky. mj is the perfect basketball player, it's not possible to play better. this is perfection, and there's no superlative of perfect. how can anybody even argue if he's the best?
thanks for wonderful upload. Its hard to decide MJ's absolute athletic prime, It could be this season or the '88-89. Both were absolutely incredibly atheletic years of MJs career. The way he was shaking of defenders & making double & triple team look like it wasn't even there. MJ is by far far the greatest atheletic talent maybe any sport has ever seen.
unreal...simply unreal..the athleticism he displayed in the late 80's was just ridiculous...that move to the baseline and jam was unbelievable...like a flash...if you have more of these rare games...keep posting
Great upload - very rare. The combo of shots at the 2:45 mark only MJ could even attempt. The run around Muggsy at 3:05 like he wasn't there - no one ever used the baseline like Mike. Just too athletic and too skilled for everyone for the rest of time.
As I recall there three or four highlights from this particular game that WGN Sports used to introduce "The Bulls Eye" pregame show for many years (1990-1993).
Understand that "And one" crossovers back in the day would have been considered carries, seeing is Jordan grew up in the 70's, he learned to dribble without carrying the ball. With his quicks as well, never needed to dribble juke all day, (ala kobe bryant) to go by a defender.
Very true. Jordan did a few semi-new school crossovers in his career, but he never carried the ball as badly as, say, Iverson or Kobe. It just wasn't in the consciousness of the game back then like all the And-1 stuff is now. Two that I remember specifically were on Joe Dumars in the '90 playoffs where he just scrapes him like 6 feet to the right and sticks the resulting wide open J, and on John Starks in '92 or '93.
And you're right about the fact that Jordan didn't need all of these fancy dribbing maneuvers to get past defenders. Imagine if he had modern handles? It wouldn't be fair.
yea cant agree more. those juke dribble are digusting to look at compare to this, and yea i was thinking about t.
and i still think that the way jordan handle the ball back then is way more efficient than the 'modern handling', which is timeless, and in a way, more modern than these new dribble style consider how long lasting it is gonna be.
i wouldnt like him as much if he had dribbled the ball like these modern and1 shit.
I've always loved that between the legs then crossover and the pass at 1:27. It just flows so well, and Jordan looks like he's moonwalking with how he jukes him and backs up at the same time lol. The pass is incredible too. That was essentially Tim Hardaway's killer crossover combo move. I have to say that this is an...err.."interesting" choice of music for the video. ;) I love this song, though.
Haha...wasn't really my choice though. I asked my g/f to pick a song...and she picked that. Great song, true, but uhh...not really suited for sports I'd say...
The new school crossover by MJ is indeed a rare move by him. His crossovers were always pretty basic(by today's standards), although lethal since he was so damn quick.
Sorry, have no idea what it is. When YT took away the original track I had due to copy-right issues I just randomly selected one from the many tracks YT itself provides.
Nowadays that dunk at 37 seconds would have been replayed from 7 different angles. An amazing play, with Jordan jumping OUT SIDEWAYS from the baseline and jamming over two players. But back then it was considered so ordinary for Jordan that they didn't bother to replay it lol.
If youre labeled the best scorer in the world today, you should be able to score efficiently no matter what. if they send 3 and 4 guys at you and u have a coach with 9 rings, he should be able to space the floor where you have atleast 10 assists. Give me a healthy Dwayne Wade over Kobe because i can count on him going to the hole rather than settling for jumpers.these days the ref will call fouls if the defender even looks at u. Bottom Line.Kobe does this to himself with his poor shot selection.
The track song on here is super gay to this video.
