  • YEAH RAFIK IS OUT.

    c'mon tiger king!@

  • Does anyone know if Rafik is a muslim?

  • yes he is

  • Is there a way to see The Contender Asia Muay Thai (internet)?

  • There's no fucking money in muay thai! What's the use of being a world champion in a sport were guy's get wrecked for next to no pay. If you are not in Thailand,France or Holland no body will even care who you are.

  • You're obviously misinformed. K-1, SLAMM, and other big shows pay these fighters six figures. The pay is getting higher now with all the broadcasting and pay-per-view around the world. More guys get wrecked skateboarding than fighting in the ring. Check out the real story rather than making hasty judgements about a sport you barely know about.

  • WHAT!?!?! You're a fucking moron. I can't believe you do Judo!!!! GAAAAH!!! (Dammit, why does a Judoka have to be a jackass?????) Judo's a fucking FREE sport, no money at ALL what the Hell do you think about that??? Damn, idjit.

  • Judo is not a free sport. It's an Olympic sport. Practiced ALL over the planet. Judokas don't get paid but they do get endorsement deals and sponsorship money to train without having to get a second job. (except in N.America) The same can't be said about Muay thai even in Thailand. Your comments shows that your an immature kid.

  • And you are arrogant, ignorant and a fool. Do you research anything or just fly off the handle half-cocked with no relevant data except the various insanities that you fantasize exist, not just in your own little bubble, but in Reality as well. I pity you.

  • Spoken like a true internet warrior. EXTREMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

  • If I were an internet warrior I'd say something like "GUH! YOU A FUCKHEAD! ME WANT FIGHT YOU! YOU PUSSY!" and spell everything wrong. I don't see how asking you if you did any research means I'm an internet warrior and such is an ad hominem argument anyways.

  • Let's end this discussion:

Buakaw earned $175,000 USD in prize money in K-1 Max

K-1 Grand Prix winner's purse is $400,000 USD

Anuwat earns approximately $60,000 per fight overseas.

Masato earned approximately $500,000 in endorsements alone in 2006.

In the U.S. of A., Maurice Smith, Rick Roufus and other world-class Muay Thai fighters command $100,000 USD or more per fight.

All you have to do is do a little research on the net.

  • Riiiiight. Buakaw earns that type of maoney only in Japan. In Thailand he would not make shit. Mo Smith and R.R. command $100,000 only in Japan. In the US they couldn't get $3 to fight. Kickboxing died out a long time ago in America.

  • Judofan, from your original comment, you seem so spiteful over kickboxers. Where does your frustration come from? Let it go, man. The fact is, kickboxers do make good money around the world, even in the US now. But most of these guys would do it for free just as you do judo for free. You don't see them basing on judokas. To each his own, man. Don't be a hater. If you don't like kickboxers, go hang out with your own kind.

  • Funny, because I just saw Kickboxing on both ESPN and Versus. K-1 has an active American branch and there are many American Kickboxing organizations (I have a friend who just entered the Amateur section of Battle of the Bronx)

  • judofan, I have no idea what cave you live in but if you did your research, Thai fighters (from Thailand) such as Buakaw, Kaoklai, Anuwat, Jomthong, Yodsanklai, and the list goes on, makes well over $100,000 USD per year in fight purses and endorsements. Do you see any Judo on Pay-Per-View? You'd be lucky to see it on the Discovery Channel. You are so clueless, son. Before you say anything else stupid, run a Google search on the names I mentioned.

  • I've some research and found out that only Japan will pay that type of money. No kickboxers in Europe, America and even Thailand gets pay that type of money. You make it sound like ll Thaiboxers have money falling out of their ass. We know danm well that's not true.

  • you DIDN'T do any research. for example, World Championship Muay Thai took take center stage on January 12th, 2008 at Las Vegas Hilton promoted by Dennis Warner and sanctioned by WBC. Fight purses ranged from $10,000 USD to $140,000 USD. go to wbcmuaythai dot com. But who cares what Thai Boxers earn. We do it for the love of our sport. Some do Judo, others Taekwondo, others Muay Thai. Please don't be prejudiced just because you don't understand other people and cultures.

  • The numbers he posted are from fights in Thailand. Oh, and what about his earlier comment about why you do Judo and why often the money is not what's important and to let each live their own. Judo money is rare, unless you open a dojo and even then it's not great. Only the top 10% or less really make any endorsements from fame so why do Judo? Because it's fun. I don't see your problem with kickboxers.

  • because everyone is differnt. muay thai is in there blood.

  • hey guys, just ignore judofan. we all know that muay thai is so much bigger than judo as a professional sport all around the world. i'm no muay thai fighter but if i was i'd wanna be a champion just for the pride and glory. i love watching muay thai! its the most exciting thing in my humble opinion. i'm just too old to practice it. thanks for posting these videos. i look forward to watching them online and onscreen.

  • agreed judo isnt even a sport its to self defend people that use it to fight are wrong in the first place, Muay Thai is for real men not boys that dont wanna get hurt

hopfully my trainer wayne gets far COME ON JWP!!

  • @welike2watch your can never be too old to practise muay thai, only to old to compete.

  • what an absolute retard you are judofan!!

Sure, MT fighters in thailand get paid shit, but its a LOT better than the national average. But u know what? Even westerners go out and live and fight in thailand earning only just enough to get by, what does that tell u about the people who give their sweat blood and tears to do this sport? THEY HAVE HEART! They don't do it for the money u fool. Go take your ignorance and cram it up your ass along with your narrow mindedness.

  • Yo, is that Yodsanklai Fairtex in the video? If not the Thai guy looks alot like him.

  • yes, that is Yodsanklai. One of the coaches is John Wayne Parr. Some big names here.

  • Need moar!!! Is there a place that shows the episodes online?

  • contenderasia dot com

  • John Wayne Parr is one of the contender , not a coach. It's strange that they used well established muay thai fighters instead of up and comers who are only going to get chumped by these veterans.
