roy jones isnt worth being in the same ring with calzaghe.a rematch with hopkins is aweful to watch, considering the fact that hopkins is such a dirty stinker.
I didn't know that and would love to see that fight no disrespect to Joe i think he has nothing to prove now. In response after the fight Joe and his father Enzo have both stated more than once that they want the fight with Roy Jones. It'd just make more business sense for him to Roy Jones and Tarver. I stand by what i said about Pavlik being a riskier fight though
true it would have been interesting but either Jones or Hopkins in their prime would've beaten joe. Kelly Pavlik is who Joe should fight but there's no where near the same money involved so it probably won't happen.
Give it up dude.. They both ducked him by skipping his weight class when they were in their prime. Pretty easy to see why now. PS.. Joe is 36, only 3 years younger than JR...
Give up what? It's just my opinion maybe i'm misinformed and you are absolutely right. I have no qualms about being corrected. Your implication that I'm somehow being stubborn is unwarranted. And saying Jones and Hopkins ducked Joe when They were in the prime is a bold statement to say the least. As for your assertion that it was easy to see why it is completely baseless as the the fight was a very close on and actually shows that had Hopkins been a few years younger he would have fought...
... a better fight and probably have one. As far as age is concerned it is not the issue when it comes to Jones it is the fact that he is past his prime i.e. at the pinnacle of one's boxing prowess. Mike Tyson for example was way past his prime in his early thirties.
The fact that Joe is 36 is no big deal righ? I do like the fact that there are still people like me so passionate about the sport. Just really wished more people understood the difference between MMA/Wrestling, and pugilism. Rules and the basic art ect.
No big deal, just realized that I have the same passion for the sport and shouldn't be soo closed minded to think my opinion is more valid than anyone elses. I can remember back in the day when I lost a close decision and about lost my mind. It's hard to say someone lost a boxing match without the almighty KO! Just some really distasteful comments on the fight really set me off this week. Sorry all, keep swinging.
i cant see joe going for hopkins again. that fight holds nothing for him. my monies on the jones fight. thats the money spinner for him, and hes always been quite upfront about wanting the money fights.
i just hopes he sticks to his word, and then retires undefeated. so very few in history have done that, but i suspect the buzz of the big stage has gotten a hold of him, and he'll keep going till he gets beat. great fighter though. truly special.
This dude is wayyyyy overrated!

"it was a terrible performance from him and I thought Hopkins did enough on the night," Froch argued.
"Calzaghe was messy and inaccurate with his punches. Nothing really landed on Hopkins. I thought Calzaghe got beaten.

Roy Jones jr i think would take the fight even tho i like joe, we will hav to see
doghead2007 3 years ago
not much chance of roy jones jr beating calzaghe now. in his prime and calzaghes prime it would have been an amazing fight though it would be close

Joe a Fantastic Fighter.. But sadly wont get any recognition outside Briton.
He fought a 43 year old Hopkins and will probably Fight Jones, who is way way Past it.
Shamer really, had Prime Joe Cal Fought a Prime Hopkins/Roy Jones, would have been intresting
