I hope none of the horses are hurt and that the people involved in this are horse lovers that are interested in their well being and are educated enough to help them if they get hurt. Interesting I just bough My Chincoteague Pony book for my horse loving toddler, learned a little about the history not sure what to think of all this.
2edowin: why don't you read the book "Misty of Chincoteague" by Marguerite Henry before you spout nonsense? It's a children's book; it should be at about your level. It explains the history of the horses on Assateague and WHY some horses are culled every year...
I went there that year and i was in the water and i stepped on an oyster bed and cut my foot open! I remember watching the men chase the foal and the guy got thrown into the mini pond in the middle!!!
Rounding the chincos? We need to get some off the island, to keep down population. There are still horses on the island, and if they were about to be endangered they would stop/slow down roundups. Read "Misty of Chincoteague". You'll feel differentley after.
@2edowin You are *severely* mistaken. They only do this once per year and they told you in this video alone how many they had, if only you were capable of math. "We only take about a handful". "We ferry them across" so they don't get tired. "Take about 9 at a time and takes about four loads". That's 36 horses. The coast guard is there during the annual Horse Swim and make sure ALL ponies make it across. They do it to keep the population manageable. Don't spread your filth.
@2edowin There are only about 36 horses in the water. They swim part of the way and then ferried the rest of the way. There are only two herds of horses on the island. It is impossible for thousands of horses to die during this annual event, there aren't even that many to begin with. Are you really this dense or just a troll? I highly doubt you will get anything from this but hopefully other readers can avoid ignorance like yours.
Omg some people here cant stop making fights like FUCK!

Ruins the magic when you video it and especially when you post it for everyone to see on youtube. There's no mystery or beauty now.

@2edowin Do some research, there's only 300 horses on the island, and they only swim a handful across to keep the population down.

@rylraven13 They're probably just one of PETA's ignorant followers who don't do their research properly before they rant about stuff.
