  • .......gimme..... next time don't watch a vid until i ate something..... -belly growl-

  • Wow an annoying ass annotation on the top that says PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!

I subscribed because I like your videos, not because you asked or begged. Please don't resort to shit like this, it's just annoying that I have to disable annotations everytime someone uses it for stupid ass shit.

  • @themangodess Honestly, this annotation is the least intrusive I ever came across on youtube. Just ignore it.

  • The ol' shake-ah shake-ah AND tappah tappah together?

You sir are playing a dangerous game!

  • this looks yummeh, but I'm afraid I can't eat peaches ):

  • can you use a little cayenne in this for colour instead of that dye??

  • Look gooooddd!

  • that's a very famous arabic dessert, it's called qamardeen. So yummy when stuffed with chocolate

  • @chickandcute How do you get chocolate in there without destroying it? When it's still warm? Sounds tricky.

  • @LeGuyIncognito ops! i meant cover it with chocolate

  • @chickandcute ah ok^^, that should be doable gotta try it.

  • @LeGuyIncognito it's really yummy. just skip the sugar sprinkling at the end and shape them into bite size balls, pour some melted chocolate, refrigerate till the chocolate sets and ENJOY!

  • @chickandcute Allright, ill try it when i try the recipe. Thanks

  • Paula Deen?

  • What is the texture of this - like a looser gumdrop?

  • hahaha they loook so cute at the end ^^

  • So this is basically peach flavored Turkish Delight?

  • CHEF JOHN

    ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

Y U NO USE MORE SUGAR

  • i watch this video every week and cry into my pillow

  • Can you use the same recipe with other fruits?

  • lovely =) id love to try it! maybe with another fruit too =)

  • Instead of using liquid pectin, can I use an envelope of unflavored gelatin? :)

  • @familiee123

    NO, just NO

  • @mokmok8080,

    Y U NO USE GELATIN?

  • I tried this and it didn't harden and I took it out of the fridge and heated 15 mins more, poured more pectin into the mixture and it still wouldn't harden. Anyone has any ideas as to why mine didn't harden?

  • @organicjuice That happened to me too. I hate it when I can't get it hard.

  • You forgot to add more sugar!

  • forgot the ceyenne

  • @wrestlingfanman22 cayenne yh

  • @wrestlingfanman22 fuck you got me..

  • my teeth hurt lol,

    great job by the way

  • I wish for peach cobbler! You're great chef John!

  • can i use a different fruit? not really a peach fan

  • too sour

  • @patwams48 Probably because of the peaches you used. I made some and it came out balanced between sweet and tangy. If the peaches in your area suck try canned peaches? Reduce sugar content too, of course.

  • @dragonpengui lol was kidding b/c of the amout of sugar

  • @dragonpengui Haha the guy was being sarcastic. xD

  • is it just me or does he sound like the jabooody dubs guy.

  • @SuperBigD9 i don't create pain. all i ment was that i think a knife would be easier because you can get the straight line rather than odd wiggly lines you'd get with a pizza cutter. chill.

  • Diabetic people are cursing at you.

  • I feel like a pizza cutter would make that a lot easier. Thumbs if you agree.

  • @SuperBigD19 thumbs if you agree. lol. & no i don't.

  • @mylilhannah Well it would, regardless if you agree or not. I work in a Kitchen and we do almost the same candy. Its just common sense. Go troll somewhere else.

  • @SuperBigD19 i'm not trolling? lmao. you asked for an opinion so i gave you one.

  • Comment removed

  • the old tappa tappa

  • Would you like some peach with your sugar?

  • ewwww

  • Has anyone tried this with other fruit and/or less sugar+ more Pektin?

Here in Germany, they sell grotesque overpriced bags of very firm, mildly sweetend miniature "all natural+ organic"-fruit-cubes(40 grams, a little more than 1 1/2 ounce) for about 4€/~5$ which totally isn't worth it, especially if you could make them yourself like these peachy ones

  • @W0tanTheGod Yeah, they're real nice made with strawberries and made with blackcurrants. Although with the strawberries, I had to put a little sugar when I put it in the blender, without it it was a little sour.

  • peach flavored diabetes. yum

  • @sexyloser I hope you weren't serious 'cause it would be so wrong in so many scientific ways^^

  • My mom be makin this shit. I ain't eat it though. I be too busy listenin to vietnamese pop with my bloomers on and shit.

  • The pan's dimensions were the same size as my penis.

  • awww this is goood

  • Wow, so much sugar! But it looks yummy:)

  • When he added the rest of the sugar I literally screamed WHOA!!

  • Im mouth watering...

  • nice knives

  • can you do this with Apples without pectin? If so are the steps different?

  • I die of starvation all the time watching these vids. I have 5 lives left.

  • try mango

  • He sounds like seth rogan lmao

  • chef John, please help! I tried to make this, but the gel concoction never fully set. I even tried putting it in the freezer. what am I doing wrong?

  • @mauigirl000 i had the same problem... second time around i added more sugar and cooked it longer to thicken it up. Worked out way better.

  • omg this is wonderful. 24 dislikes... whaa?!!

  • I WANT ITTTT

  • 4:42 i think i see a tiger on the knife

  • Pectin sounds like an inedible substance

  • do you know how to adjust the recipe to use gelatin vs. fruit pectin?

  • needs more sugar

  • @wavetheaussieflag sarcasm?

  • @wavetheaussieflag

that would be like over 300 grams of sugar lol

  • I am made it as a present for a friend, she was really happy. Thanks for the recipe, it is a very tasty treat to have. P.S. to all who say- ohhh sugar, it is a freaking candy, normal people eat once or twice a year or maybe one during tea time on sunday, if you really want it, and those who eat them all the time are just crazy, eat it rarely and enjoy this rare treat

  • think it would still work if i substitute peptin with agar-agar instead?

  • this looks soooo freaken good. i wish i could try one of these

  • My teeth hurt just watching this.

  • can you do this with other fruits besides the peach?

  • Not peach based if there is more sugar than peach :)

  • make more desserts plissss :)

  • looks like turkish delight

  • These look awesome!

    Perfect for halloween :)

  • this nuti-grain bar taste to much better while watching this.

  • Hello Chef Jhon, I am a big fan of your recipes...and my food wish is Pistachio Nougat...I love to treat myself with something sweet after lunch or dinner, especially in winters which are coming shortly..Pistachio Nougat...prety please :)

  • What happened to the edges after you cut them off xD

  • Tip: Make dentist appointment prior to making the candy.

  • I could use a pumpkin shaped cookie cutter and give these out for halloween.

  • @sovereignphil0013 nice idea. haha!

  • hi..im from malaysia..and ur big fans.can i sub peach with tropical fruit..like papaya or guava?

  • god damn it, i want you to make more candy

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE TAPPA TAPPA AND THE SHAKEH SHAKEH

  • the recipe is sponsored by American Diabetic Association.

  • you can use other fruits, right?

  • WTFBOMB

That's a lot of sugar. lol.

  • DAYUM thats a lot of sugar... me wants... :L

  • When I was growing up, my father had a candy shop in our basement, he made hard candy, this brings back memories for me. He didn't make gelee like this, but he made batches of candy, 30 - 35 lbs. batches, we had a marble slab that we poured the hot candy out onto after it was ready...our house smelled like a candy factory in the Winter...it was too hot to make it any other time of the year! Thanks Chef John...one John to the other!

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS How cool to have Willy Wonka as your Dad! Wow! Christmas must've been mind-blowing-ly fun at your house [lol] :)

  • @Poenut - We never had a shortage of candy around the Holidays, to top that off one of my father's aunt's, my Aunt Anna dipped chocolates, so she would want hard candy for her customers, so she would pay my father with chocolates for his hard candy...it was a wonderful time in my life.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS Oh wow. Paid in chocolates. I want that job, lol. Very nice story, Mr. C. :)

  • I agree with the macaroon-freaks!

  • chef john, are you using a hattori knife?

  • can i use other fruits instead of peach?

  • make macaroons please!

  • Chef John, can you do macaroons? Thanks!

  • Have just made this and chef John, thank you this was sublime. I hope my freind in america enjoys this!

  • pure sugar @@

  • One thing chef john which i think you ought to mention, while the gelee is cooling at room temperature, wash the pans IMMEDIATELY! If you leave it for a while bye bye saucepan!

  • @jakamneziak you could always fix the hardened/jellied sauce pan by filling with water and bringing back to a boil on the stove so that it would soften up again.

  • ........shit loads of sugar used....

  • @cathypeacexx

Of course there's a lot of sugar! It's candy!

  • How about putting a knife in water before cutting this?

  • @mmc753 Water would cause the sugar to stick to the knife, he aint goen clean his knife after each cut, thats just uneffecient :P

  • @MistahJai HAHAHAHAHA

  • Humm this gave me a great idea. There all middle eatern sweets I love with rose flavor and pistachios I think after watching this I may be able to do something similar.

  • @bonzaibb12 Yes, it made me think of loukoumia (Turkish Delight) also! I've always wanted to make that too, but this looks easier!!

  • Would this recipe work with strawberries?

  • almost looks like a type of marmalade!

  • Chef John gonna make all them guests high with that snow in those sweets...

  • mmm.......looks good

  • Chef John: what other fruit would you be able to substitute for peaches? Not that peaches are hard to get, you just didn't list any other options and it seems like it would be fine to use other stuff.

  • yum yummmmmmmm

  • this is very famous in arabic countries.....it's called qamar al deen

  • @MissPopeyes22 the qamar al deen I have seen here in the states is more like a fruit roll up or fruit leather.

Do you know the name of the candy that is white with pistachios and individually packaged here for about 50 cents there is also a brown one with pistachios that is jelly like and the white one is like a marshmellow taffy.

??? I would love to know the name so I could scrape the web for a recipe.

  • @bonzaibb12 oooh i'll have to ask around for it. here in kuwait qamar al deen is a little thinner than what chef john did. and some do come in the similar form of fruit roll ups. Especially for Ramadan we get bags of candy and this is one of the most popular. As for the other candies, the brown jelly one with pistachio and the the other taffy like one i know the ones your talking about. the brown one has a similar consistency as turkish delights

  • can you do this with other fruit like strawberries if u remove the seeds?

  • how can you cut it so evenly?? if it was me, it would turn out as random pieces. It looks difficult too because it seems so sticky!!!

  • droool...

  • Aw, I wish this was uploaded at the beginning of Summer when peaches were local and plentiful. I try to buy local when it's possible. :-/

  • @bluetextonwhitebg I've done this recipe with apricots and guavas. Guavas usually ripen around Nov., Dec... if you like the taste. (Personally I don't like Guavas but my friends do, so I make it for them)

  • is there perhaps another ingredient we can use if/when we don't have pectin, thank you very much.

  • finally the tappa tappa! How I have missed you so tappa tappa.

  • @cptrecon SWAG SWAG SWAG BASEDGOD BASED BOY :)

  • @cptrecon The "old" tappa tappa, sir.

  • Mmmmm, brownies ......

  • He squeezed all the lime juice into that spoon like pro.wtf..I wouldn't be able to get it all the juice in a wider bowl lol

  • I am making this tomorrow...thanks so much Chef John!

  • You broke your own rule. Its the ole tappa tappa. You can't say tappa tappa cause thats stupid.

  • are these like jubes?

  • Is liquid pectin like lye water? That substance used in some Asian sweets like the Filipino dessert "kutsinta (coo-tsin-tah)"?

I keep coming back to this video because of the cut at 3:29. :)

  • sucks living in southeast asia cos it's so hard to find these ingredients fresh :(

  • Great video!

  • liquid what???

  • @giselathegee pectin, its used to make fruit preserves and jam

  • can this be done with other fruits? like strawberry or even bleuberry's?

  • Can you dust it with powdered sugar? The thought of biting down on granulated sugar makes my teeth cringe a little!

  • @XxKatStar I'd imagine you could, there wouldn't be any reason you can't plus I believe it might work better than granulated

  • nhibgvfcdxsxcvhjnszxdfvgbhnjikkkiujyhgtrfdfaf

whoops, i was wiping off the drool on my keyboard!

  • Accidentally drooled over my keyboard :(

  • I accidentally drooled my saliva on my keyboard

  • If we were to dust it with cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg, would this taste like peach pie candy? LOL #fatkidmustknow

  • lol so much sugar!

  • i am not using my fresh peaches on that

  • How about "the new shake-a tap-a"?

  • Comment removed

  • @zeMusicluver Yes, you dont add as much sugar...Too bad your retard brain couldnt figure it out

  • @gangster664 That wasn't exactly what I was asking. But I apologize that I wasted your time.

  • Kinda love watching Chef John do a candy video. Can we have more like this? Maybe fudge :o

  • @TtonyArra he has made fudge

  • @TtonyArra
