Putting to-gather a morph must be a lot of work. I did a shattered effect with some of my art and found not all art lends itself to that pictorial technique. Your work is liquid and the art of Rembrandt is always compelling. Great job!
The video is super just the last picture is not the final painting of Rembrandt. And i think it was good, if the final painting should be the painting of Rembrandt too. But it is good so too of course. Just i think i say it to you.
Oh god , this is SO moving. Do you see that the terrible, horrific doom, the mortality that is expressed here is SO oppressive. Congratulations on creating something very simple that is so majestic, so powerful. I adore Rembrandt as the greatest artist of them all. But your film lends him such dignity, such respect and also such terrible sadness. Ah, very impressive, very moving. Thank you.
excellent my friend! Rembrandt was a true genius and master of painting.Modern art crap shall look back at old art and try to see the pitiful disgrace of what the art is today!
@vaporizer08 yes, baroque art does hold more beauty and detail than modern art, but modern art expresses much, much more, mainly because the modern artists and the world today is much more open-minded than Europe in the baroque period.
This is the greatest youtube video of all I have seen nothing like - it is so sad near the end its unbelievable. Rembrandt van Rin was a true master and thats pefectly morphed an great music too !
Hey that's pretty neat. Although, the last morphing image of Rembrandt looks younger than the last two before this one. He was ending looking very fragile and senile and then BANG!! he finished looking like if he was back to 58 or so. (Maybe he got a facelift that slipped thru the fingers of historians? We will nerver know, Lol)
I've watched this video many times; it was tastefully put together. It's moving to see the life of this icon of an age pass in just two and a half minutes. Most of us will go just as quickly without bequeathing such a legacy. Thanks lemurheart.
I just returned from the MET in New York and saw a great deal of his paintings. This video would be a great addition to these . The viewing public would really enjoy it.
You can't make your paintings look like this anymore because no lead paint. The lead paint crystalizes and makes the paint crack over time. You can apply rabbit skin glue and use a traditional ground. But with out boiling the lead and mixing it with some sort of chalk as rembrandt did, you will not come close to acheiving a taut painting service. These painting days are over, sadly.
Exquisite! Absolutely gorgeous!! This nearly brought tears to my eyes. To me, Rembrandt was nearly a god whose works are wonderful, and in his self portraits we see a man so full of intelligence, sadness, human sympathy, a little vanity, but compassion as well. An autobiography without words ...
One other thing - what a striking resemblance to the actor, Leo McKern, Rembrandt had as an older man (or the other way round) - shame he isn't around to play him. But then again, I've just remembered 'Lust for Life' with Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn, so maybe he has been saved...
very well done. I have created many morphs, and this takes a lots of work, especially when the head turns. I greatly enjoyed watching Rembrandt paint himself as the aged. A fine video, and interesting subject.
Nicely done....
