I too am appalled for this bakery for making these cookies EXTREMELY racist.

I think he did this as a way to build his business. With the econonmy being the way it is, his business is probably suffering. So he makes these cookies, which sparks a public interest, which in turn will make people come to his store, even if it is out of total curiosity. His store becomes famous as a result of all this, which will draw customers.
