  • Nice video....Could you use regular wooden mulch chips? What are the advantages for using straw?

  • @foofarters Wood chips are a no no for vegetable gardens,Wood chips and saw dust should never be dug into the ground they rob the soil of nitrogen. Bailed pea straw is the best the older the better as it peels off in sheets, other wise putting straw on loose is a waste of time , the birds will pick straw up and or the wind will blow all the loose straw away in no time, The best method is to lay pea straw in sheets 2 to 4 inches thick,Old pea straw or hay is also great when dug in .
