It was nice to turn on the radio in the early 80s and listen to various kinds of rock like this. There was such variation. I miss the variety of styles. Lately, it's like the whole world has been taken over by the borg from Star Trek. Thank you for the lyrics. This video is quite entertaining.
Oh my god I didn't know Donnie Iris sang this song holy sheet I am only 40 or soon to be 41 I just found out he was the one who sang Ah Leah damn where the hell have I been.OK OK I'll blame it on all the weed that I had smoked during this time period.
@dreamkill1970 About the time you were born , Donnie had his first hit with "The Rapper " , when he was lead singer for The Jaggerz . He's now 67 and still rockin out :)
U should check out his newer stuff. Him and Mark Avsec have gotten the Cruisers back 2gether again. He is a local legend here in Pittsburgh and lives not far from me.
I have been a fan since I can remember!! OMG Donnie you are my KING!!! When ever you were close to cleveland I always changed my schedule around just to see you!!! Rock On!!
Ah man!!!! We use to get dropped off at the local roller skating rink(big thing in the 80's) All our friends were there and we thoroughly enjoyed wasting our night away.
This version beats the h**** out of Slade's remake by a landslide!! I remember boppin' around the living room to this at full level, with my girlfriends, back in Jr. high! Donnie Iris kicks a** !!!
OMG!! I had totally forgotten this!! He had some pretty good music out in the early 80's...I still remember going to the roller rink and skating with Ah Leah playing.
LOL: After all this time, it's still relevant: "You can't depend on politicians...you can't depend on superstition...NO!" Donnie (the Man, the Myth, the Legend) -- you ROCK, man!
donnie is in no way forgotten. he just put on a hell of a show yesterday to a screaming throng of fans. the old man still sounds great after all of these years.
Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!! I forgot how much I loved this song!!!! Man...this takes me back when music was FUN and sex was SAFE and drugs were PURE!!! :)
lol...this song came out in the Zenith of Aids...sex wasnt safe...lol...go get checked all the same... I love the song too ...just thought it was funny ..you sounded like a 60s hippy child...All my love anyway..ur right though ..this was an awsome sound to grow up by...
Awesome-Awesome-Awesome, I can only imagine how much time you spent doing this! Because ive done similar things with laurel and hardy. This rocks man and keep it up! your fan!
I love the Gang Vocals "Love can rock you"....Very deep with some actual back bone to them. Most tracks with those type of vocals are thin, weak and distant...these vocals are right in your face...great mixing on this recording. Another good song on this cd is "My Girl".
Slade (seriously) done a very credible cover of this song on their final album from 1987. The opening track on "You Boyz Make Big Noize" (SALVOCD011) which has recently been remastered and released. Love Is Like A Rock is one of my favs on this album. Lots of bonus tracks on the new release and cheap as chips but not their best album. ;-)
You cant depend on politicians.
