I am skeptical of this crap. Where are the re-enactments held? When? How often do they meet? I think this is men with very small units dressing up as the baddest of the bad and liking it. I will not vote for this Nazi for Congress.
$500 in 15 minutes? That fast? I don't think that could be true... I'm making $40 an hour with the best technique at the net, ez-casino(dot)com, there's nothing better!
@fagan411 Even a cursory understanding of history will allow one to realize that the Nazis were not Socialists (try Karl-Dietrich Bracher's "The German Dictatorship" - considered one of the best accounts). In fact, the fiercest opposition to the Nazis both before Hitler was appointed Chancellor in a back room deal between Von Papen and Hindenburg, and after martial law was declared in 1933, were members of the SDP - Social Democratic Party. But do you even care? Or are you being sarcastic?
@fagan411 Silly man. 1> The Nazi's only called themselves socialists to appeal the masses. They were far right and hated the left. After all, they were at war with Commie Russia! 2> Democrats range from conservative capitalist to liberal capitalist, with very very very VERY few left of liberal. Oh, well.
There seems to be alot of confusion as to what these reenactments are. Basically two groups of people get together, each representing a side in a war. They set up mock camps and invite people to come and learn about how each side lived in the military in that point in time. There are revolutionary war reenactors in our nation that dress up like the british, does that mean their monarchists? Absolutely not. There are northerners that dress up as confederates, but they don't support slavery.

@skatek610. The whole idea of re-enactments of WWII is laughable. How are you going to re-enact air raids or tank battles. Re-enactments are logistically possible for medieval, revolutionary, or civil war battles, possibly even parts of WWI, but you can't honestly be arguing for authenticity of a WWII simulation without realizing how laughable your point is. Mr Iott should count himself lucky he is an American. In Germany he'd have been jailed for wearing his SS costume in public.
skate, I think that people who dress up as some of the worst characters in human history like you are the ones who need to get a life.
This guy is toast. Not even the GOP and the "Tea party" can stand beside him now. They are running away like he has the plague! Schadenfreude? Yes indeed.
To who ever made this video, maybe you should learn a little before calling people nazis, who did the americans have to fight to win? How would a reenactment go when the americans are shooting at nothing? should we set up paper targets to "simulate" the "nazis" They arn't out creating war crimes or attacking non-aryians. they teach the public the german side of the war. Get a life and read the 5thss site's disclaimer
@samuszoomer States are not people. People are not property. But given your tool-status, one could not have expect you to grasp the first two points, or understand why people already know your views and reject them.
@kaztros Correct, and that is why slavery is wrong. (encase you are too stupid to notice I am referring to your first point) Also I realise that states are not people, but they are created and controlled by people in the end.
@skatek610 My uncle who fought with three of his brothers who are all gone didn't find this fantasy bonding wearing German uniforms and playing soldier one wit funny. He is 90 years old and if he manages to vote again it will not be for anyone in the GOP like in the past.
If you don't get why this kind of behavior is nonsense regardless of the "disclaimers" which we saw at the website you are a fucking morally blind.
"Tea Party" why not the New American Nazi Party instead?
@skatek610. The whole idea of re-enactments of WWII is laughable. How are you going to re-enact air raids or tank battles. @mbx2713 There were several parts of WWII that were primarily/exclusively Infantry battles; plenty of room for reinactments. As to jailing him in Germany for wearing an SS uniform, that's ironically a pretty Gestapo-ish thing to do. :)
@skatek610 When the US and UK and USSR tore through germany at the end of the war, there were massacres of innocent citezens, and reports of rape. Those are war crimes.
This is the most STUPID controversy I've heard- re-enactment is a wonderful way of teaching history, and SOMEONE has to play the bad guys. Though if I were running for office, I'd consider carefully which group I played with. My fav reenactor story is that of a hotel which booked a Jewish wedding along with a Re-enactor Fest. One of the grandmothers had this little tattoo on her forearm. Fortunately when the hotel and re-enactors found out, they worked together to make both events successful.
@anntotusek the obvious skinhead boy in the pic (a hairstyle not in the Nazi's of WW2) makes me wonder if this really is a neo-Nazi circle jerk gang. So of course a RepugliKKKan candidate would be involved --- Nazi's and young skinhead boys!
There's absolutely no reason this thing should be news. He participated in a re-enactment. Somebody has to play the Nazis. Now is everyone who ever played a Nazi soldier in any movie every made going to be tagged as a Nazi?
Ridiculous.
I don't care if he's a Republican or a Democrat. Tagging him as a Nazi just because he does re-enactments is just the typical political name-slandering that always seems to happen.
Someone tell these name-calling politicians and news sources to grow up...
@jfm429 He didn't "just do a reenactment," in which he happened to play the Germans--he belonged to a group that regularly dresses up like members of the 5th SS Panzer Division, a unit that fought on the Eastern Front. During WWII, parts of the real unit participated in actions with Einsatzgruppen A in the Ukraine, murdering Jews, and the division definitely committed war crimes. Oh, but hey, it's just pretend, so no need to give any thought to what he chose to dress up as, right?
@jfm429 He is not playing the "nazis" he isn't playing the bad guy, he regurlarly dresses up as an SS trooper who was later relocated to a death camp.
