In the past 4-5 years, Boise State has beaten tons of other first class teams, such as VT, Oregon, TWICE, Oklahoma, TCU, and others. Boise State cannot help their conference schedule, but in all of our hard non-conference, we've stepped up to the challenge.

Oregon almost lost to Cal which had no quarterback, while Nevada beat Cal soundly before Cal's starting quarterback got injured. And then there's Auburn struggling to defeat 5 - 5 Georgia.

What's most interesting is the way all of those big tough teams you speak of refuse to play Boise State, while they're more than happy to play Division II teams, as every one of them does, while Boise State does not.

By the way, VTech is about to win the ACC Conference. And had Boise State not had 11 critical penalties, several after the plays were over, it would have been a BSU route.

All I'm saying is that TCU, Oregon and others have schedules just as easy as Boise State's, yet the only schedule you ever hear about is BSU's.

VTech only has two ranked teams on its schedule, BSU and a #23 team, yet all the ESPN BCS cells are ragging about them now.

The BSC needs to be hit with an anti-trust suit for monopolizing its bowl games so that only those teams that can make the most money get in.

No wonder the BCS didn't allow the game to be televised!

I think if this game was played later in the season vt would have won, the mistakes they made probably wouldnt have happened because then the newer players would have had more experience under their belt and there would have been more depth for vt's defense

I think Beamer hit the nail on the head; this defense is very young and faced a veteran offense on the first game of the year. I saw this coming and tried to make the point pregame but got shot down by VT fans. I thought our D was gonna raise some VT fans' eyes but didn't see that kind of run dominance against these Hokies coming. This Hokie squad at the end of the year has a very good chance of winning the ACC outright imo and bludgeoning their bowl opponent. Their D will get better in a hurry.

They definitely took advantage of VT gaffes. I'm a VT fan, and we definitely could have won if it weren't for the penalties on the punting play and the late hit, late in the game. I'm not saying that's the reason Boise won, but it didn't hurt. As a VT fan, it sucks. But good luck to Boise.....also, I'm almost positive that was Heather D asking one of those questions.

@Unkindsky VT definatley made some mistakes, but so did BSU. BSU had 2 turnovers and VT had 1. BSU had 11-105 in penalities and VT had 7-55 in penalties. Both teams made mistakes that led to scores for the opponent.
