If I kill myself, life insurance doesn't cover anything because suicide is illegal. If a man is raped, he goes thought both physical and mental stress for quite some time, but If a woman gets raped, she must go through that stress even more so because she will be carrying her rapists baby, whenever she sees the baby she will remember the rape, when the baby grows up, she must tell him or her, that will cause stress for the child because he/she will fell unloved and will probably commit suicide! That being said, I feel there should be strict guidelines as to when an abortion can take place. After a certain amount of time, partial birth abortions and such should just not be allowed.

Why is abortion different from murder?
Because a fetus is different. If we were in the fetus' world, we'd die. If a fetus is in our world, they die. Its logical to treat different things differently.
And a woman is in exercise of a right when she does it --the right to decide if/when/how many kids her body bears.
It's not a case of "supporting abortion", its legality. You dont have to like something, to think it should be legal.

If I kill myself, life insurance doesn't cover anything because suicide is illegal. @gilkwad I actually totally agree the commercial was very well made. My "keep it classy" comment was directed at the user Christian MIssion. I am strongly Pro-Choice. That being said, I feel there should be strict guidelines as to when an abortion can take place. After a certain amount of time, partial birth abortions and such should just not be allowed.
All that being said. It absolutely blows my mind that "Christians" would not allow use of contraception, condoms or any other birth control.

@gilkwad IN addition to their stance on "no contraception" they are against teaching sexual education, iN SCHOOL. School, you know, the place that is supposed to prepare you for life and give you detailed information so when a situation arises an individual can make informed choices. Without having all the facts, only bad choices could be made. Sexual education and sex draws direct parallels to the health care debate. Republicans have NO actual plan, so they will just slam the opposing opinion.

Sex, my main point (and that of the Nobel prize-winning Akerlof) is that "abortion rights" actually worked to INCREASE not DECREASE the incidence of out-wedlock-births by promoting sexual promiscuity (to use an old pejorative) and alienating biological fathers from a sense of paternal duty. I would also add encouraging (at least marginally) sexually active people to be LESS rather than MORE likely to use contraception.

Many people have supported "abortion rights" not so much because it advances "women's rights" but because it promotes "sexual freedom" in general. More sexual freedom generally results in more sex outside of marriage. Social trends have all sorts of underlying causes.

A pretty consistent 80% of the women who get abortions are unmarried. Of those who are married an unknowable but probably significant percentage are pregnant by someone other than their husband. He may feel that society is now "too far gone" in the direction of "sexual liberty" for it to do much good. He may fear the social and political firestorm that would result.
