  • Can amps handle a lot of wats input. Like a line of 1500 watts coming into an amp. Is that safe.

  • thanks man

  • Coloured cables or shorter cables (so you can see what joins to what), would really have helped.

  • PLS. TEACH US ALSO HOW TO CONNECT CROSSOVER AND EQ

  • why don't you just paralel the amps and save yourself the cables...thanks

  • way to daisy chain.........will your next video be how to use two power cords in power strip?

  • What is the benefit of linking amps? I really need to know because I may get a speaker amp package but I already have an amp

  • Hey ellaskins,

what would i have to do if i want to plug two active jbl jrx 100's speakers into one qsc rmx2450 amp? for some reason only the right side is playing. Iv been checking to see if my left speaker was damaged but nothing seems to be wrong.

What do you think could be the problem?

    thanks

  • send me a amp2 nathan123

  • What is the benefit of linking amp>amp?.. saving output from mixer?

  • @afwas3 then you only need 1 channel of the amp

  • i have a question. What should I do if I want to use one speaker that needs an amp to power it. I only have a 2 channel amp. For instance I want to use the passive speaker as a monitor (i don't need 2 monitors). Some help please. thanks

  • at to make this simple, HE JUST "BRIDGED" THEM!! lol, now lets make it confusing, try using 2 car amps in mono bridge X2 channels!! theres a chalenge for yuh!!

  • a simple "pass through"

  • is it save to hook up an amp of 2x1200 watt to an amp of 2x500 watt like you did on this vid?

  • is this safe to do? do both amps have to be the same? is this not a different way to bridge (in a way)?

  • if the power amp do not have a link inputs, can it be link? for an example using behringer EP2000...it rear panel only have 2 input per channel (speakon n TRS)...can I connect it like you do in the vid?

  • i use this set up to take a stereo signal to the top amp then out to my fullrange speakers, then link the top amp to the bottom as shown, the bottom amp then goes to the subs again stereo. just a way so you don t have to take four leads from your mixer.

  • Is the point of connecting amps using just L OR R to use more speakers for L/R..? Cause what I see is that you're basiclly going R out of mixer into one of your amps. the first channel links over to channel B. one amp will power two speakers alone (channels a/b) and then out of channel b of the first amp, into the second, and link both of those channels again, allowing them to power eachother, allowing you to use four Speakon out speakers. Is this the point in connecting the amps like so? Thanks

  • hi,thats great..can u post a vid bout bridged n parallel amps..dont quiet understand..thanks,lookin forward to it..

  • thats for noobs xD

  • all amps r not mad that wat .see your manu

  • So why would you link them, does it gave you the power of both amps going sterio into two speakers, give them twice as much power/

Basically, what I'm asking is, are you just making one big amp?

  • hey bud...i just bought a peavey cs4080....im looking to power up 12 bassbin....and im gonna need more then one amp...how do i hook these amps together...my amp looks different then the ones you use there....take a look at the peavey cs4080.....let me know if its doable...to link them...and how do i gotta hook these togethere...im gonna be getting 4 more of these amps.....3 for bass bins and 1 for the mids and tweets......im looking to use a 2 way crossover....

  • @KNOXVILLE20082009

if your your using a crossover go out the crossover into the inout of your amplifier then you should be able to go out of the input which is free into your next amplfier for the other subs, this may help or you will need to get a multi box to give you more conections, hope this helps

  • A DOOD I REGULARLY GET YOUR VIDEOS BUT I GUESS THIS TIME I DIDT UNDERSATND SHIT LOL SRRY

  • @servenx3

I hope you are being sarcastic!!!! This is sooooooo basic!

  • Thank a lot this help out, save my ASS,,, Good job

  • hey can you link rca amps ??

    my mixer only has rca

    please answer :)

    thanks

  • Thanks!!! Very good info!!

  • thank you for this video ellaskins.

  • Hi mate, very informative vid. Im currently running a beringher ep2500 and ep1500 (sepratley) out of a Yamaha EMX 2000 into peavey pro 15" tops and 18" Bins. Not the best I know but its what weve got.We put a full band rig into it drums, bass, guitar and 2 vocals and it seems to be red lighting the amps and desk all the time. can I ,link the amps together to drive a bit more sound.

    Cheers

  • hi can you link 2 diffrent amplifers ie warrior and peavey, thanks, have got a lot if info from you thanks again.

  • i freakinng love you. TYTYTY

  • Savious , thanks a lots folk

  • Good job explaning what i needed to know cheers, Big thumbs up

  • hi,

can someone please try and answer this question:

if i got two of the amps in the video (studiomaster ax3500) and i linked the amps using the stereo method what would be the peak outputs to each of the channels at 4 and 8 ohms?

    thanks in advance

  • @themac10tube the output would be the same as what they are rated 1100W @4ohms per side. linking them like this does not make one huge amp. you still have 4 outputs. it is just sharing the signal.

  • Nice video. My question is. Is there a limit as to how many amps can I link in stereo mode? Lets say I have six amps or even more can I link them all the same way?

  • @juancs1813 The output of the XLR's will be the same. You can hook up as many as you want.

  • hi mate , just wanted to get a bit of advise from you ,on my amp behringer ep 4000

what settigs do you use for dj ing on the toggles on the back stereo mono bridge ,and what kind of jack do you plug into it stereo or mono ,im having trouble getting a good sound ,when i plug stereo jacks into the amp and the rca s into the mixer it sounds crap if you pul the white rca out and just leave the red one pluged in it sounds better , any advise thanks

  • Can i link two diffrent amps?

  • @fiafiarekortz Yes. Some amps will have different connection on the back though like either 1/4" or XLR. But the clubs I've worked at uses different amps alll the time.

  • i have 2 vegas earthquake subs and two crowns ce 2000 1 doesnt have enogh power to drive both but one bridge have enogh power for 1 sub only how do i do it what i like to do is bridge both and have eachone connected to each sub. let say one bridge amp to one sub the other bridge amp to the other sub can it be done but how do hookit to my mixer left and right outs pls rply

  • @thedjfantastic1 In a lot of cases you get better low end if you use 1 sub bacause if you under power 2 subs, there wont be enough bass. On the back it should show a + on one channel you use and a - on ther opposite channel.

  • how do u hook up for speakers with one amp lets say i want to hook up a 4800w pyramid xpa-480 dj amp to a pair of gemini gsm-3250 speakers to a pair of eap-215d speakers how woud i do it

  • This is an interesting idea, but it doesn't feel right. Ideally what you should do (my opinion and how I run it, and not necessarily right), you would have 3 amps (or two) 1 for running bass cabs, and another for the mids (and highs if two), and a third for the highs. You would come out of the mixer, into a system controller, and out into the respective amps. Check out the DBX Driverack PA+, brilliant piece of gear, rent one and check it out at least, should be a cheap rental, and sounds great!

  • @anaphaxeon i absolutely agree with you, it's the easiest way and in my opinion (for most people) also the safest because there isn't a whole lot of things that can go wrong conection wise in the setup way you mentioned.

  • can this amplifier use bose speaker?

  • this amplifiers can use how many speaker?

  • does this work with ANY 2 amplifiers that are exactly the same

  • what would you be using these amps for?

  • how to connect the speakers and the bass?

    help

  • awesome! thanks dude.

  • How much did those amps cost?

  • A good solid amp will cost you but, they are well worth it in the long run because, they are built to last so, if your in the market for a amp, do some research on what you want. Dont go in blind and stick with names that have been around...dont get junk from all these johnny come lately companies just to save money.

  • thanks sir, its very good to know. it helps a lot to my live band setup... more power. would it be okey if i ask some more advice regarding audio system? thanks

  • if you dont want to do it this way you can buy a rca splitter at radio shack an a 1/4" adapter an hook up two setsof rca's it works just as well or if not better

  • What is the due of doing this? power up your amps or what

  • Nice amps.

  • wat if u only have 2 inputs on your amplifier and you wat to huck 4 up how do u do it

  • If I'm understanding your question correctly- you need a mixer.

  • way cool, thanks for the tips ....good to now

  • are they the new studio master amps as i was wondering what they were like as i have herd mixed reviews

  • how would i do it with 3 amps

i have phono and jack inputs

and xlr, speakon and screw terminal outputs

i cant seem to find out how to do it,plz reply

  • you come out of mixer into 1st amp out of first amp output into 2nd amp input. out of second amp output into 3rd amp input if that makes any sence to you :)

  • i wanted to do it like that but i wernt too shure if it would blow the amps

  • nope as it only links the input signal so is fine

  • WTF IS THIS DOING? i am trying to understand... is this making music goes to both amps, or is this linking the amps for wattage?

  • Comment removed

  • it links them to send signal to both amps nothing to do with power outage

  • thanks alot!

  • Hey dude good effort at explaining/ but u neglected to let the camera show where these wires r coming from on the mixer . So persons who r learning this stuff for first time can use such a visual as a guide along with ur verbal presentation. "KEEP IN MIND THAT SEEING IS BELIEVING. " Professionals at events also use color coded tape on their cables, because plain wires can become confusing to distinguish . Your voice/ video quality are good, as well as your knowledge . Thanks

  • so linking two amps doubles your wattage?

  • i can't understand shit!

  • i did dat and it blow my speaker out...i think i over power it...wht u think ellaskins

  • I have despised using multiple amps for ages for this very reason.....TOO MANY DAMNED CABLES! I sometimes have an attention span that is measured in nanoseconds and tend to forget what lead goes into what. In spite of my disgust, this was a helpful video for me to get a general idea on connecting multiple amps.

  • little practice amps need o be able to "chain" like that.. without having to mute the sound with the headphone jack

  • I'd just like to point out that these "Thru" terminals aren't always fitted to amplifiers. (eg W Audio DA800 doesn't have them)

The Ports are also on most active speakers.

  • is it perfectly alright to store amplifiers *in a rack system* on its side or lying down?... I have a truck with a low lying bed cover so there is no vertical room to store anything upright

  • Hey,

I just watched this video and found it very helpful, however when I looked at my one amplifier it looked nothing like this. I have a Gemsound EXA-3955. I have a few pictures of the back of the amp.

If you are interested in helping, if you can, please send me a message with your email and I will email the pictures I took.

I would like to get this to work because I would like to get 2 more of this amp and get 2 subs and 2 more speakers.

    Thanks,

    ambroom

    (DJ Broom)

  • How can I hook up 4 speakers to the amplifier?, With 1 amplifier.

  • not

  • you can daisy chain as many amps as you want together, but when using highs, mids, lows, and bass bins, its best to run the bins on a stereo (2 channel) amp, your lows, on a seperate stereo amp, and a seperate for your mids and another for your highs. And from your mixer go into a crossover which will split your signals down into high, mid, low, and a subwoofer channel, which optimises the use of your speakers and you get a much cleaner sound

  • how do you know if the amps can be linked up?

  • How can I hook up 4 speakers to the amplifier?

  • My speakers are capable of running at 600 watts rms each (@ 8 ohms) and my amp claims to have 3000 watts but only 300 watts rms at 8 ohms per "speaker" How can I get more power to my speakers from the amp? the amp says it's clipping and the woofers on the speakers are barely moving

  • the 3000 watts is Max power, which the amp will virtually, never reach. one reason being that a standard home outlet is only capable of giving out 2000 watts on average at one time.

  • tnx dude :D

  • some times if u receive to much bass just swith it to line

  • This will cause more problems it you do that!, if you have to much bass, turn the amp vol down.

  • Can you put a limited amount of amps like this or only two?

  • To help with your question, you can link as many amp as you want! they will still work fine!

  • Cheers mate, thanks a lot!!!!

  • hey bro, I know my english is not well ..but i would like to know ( if you understand me), what if i want to connect 3 or 4 amps like you did in the video , can i do or it won't work .

    thanks for you answer..

  • hi johnathan great tutorials

could you please let me know how i would set up two passive speakers for tops and one mackie bass bin active to an horizon desk

many thanks and great work all the best andy h

  • if the desk has a mono out, u use that for the sub, and the main for the tops, but if u only have an main mix, u would need to by a cross-over, but i would have to look into it more not positive on thats the only way

  • how do i set up 4 speakers to 1 amp??

    plz answer??

  • u can daisy chain the speaker, which lowers the ohms, and the wattage doesn't really change much. but thats with my speakers, all u need to do is connect 1 speaker to the amp, and the other speaker of the first 1. and your set

  • Yeah for example i have 2 bins 2 mids and 2 tops running on a 1.5kw amp.

I run the speaker cables from my amp to mids then to bass bins then to highs.

    to explain more=

    mids

input = from amp, output = to bass bins

    bass bins

input = from mids, output = to highs

    highs

    input = from bass bins

  • If you have 2 amplif with 2 xlr inputs and 2 jack inputs for left and right. Can you link the 2 amplif with xlr to jack cables ?

  • Yes, you can ;)

  • grate turorial j

thinkin of gettin sum new speakers with separate amp would u recommend this one

  • Another Question: you can't do this with alot of amps right? Only afew like 2 or maybe 3 would be good. I heard that if you daisy chain too many amps there is a bad delay on the last amps.

  • Hi J

Question: In your first example, Linking both amps in Stereo - This would allow you to run 4 speakers (2 speakers off each amp), right? The linking is for sending a signal only and not for turning amp 2 into 2200 watts per side @ 4 ohms... right?

  • unless you bi-amp your speakers

  • right side, right side, right side, left side... think there was little bit of mixing up there that might mix up some of the viewers... :) Good video on connections.

  • spot on v.useful info. :)
