Redford's net worth is $170 million according to Celbrity Net Worth. According to Fame Net Worth his value is $75 million, which makes no sense as this puts him as little better than Al Gore or Miley Cyrus. Celebrity Inc. says $398 million. Redford himself only acknowledges a paltry average of $30 million.
In March 2010 R.R. sold a property in Malibu for $14 million.
Just what I though, Sundance is underway and they need to sell everybody on the idea of mutal understanding, blah, blah, blah... crapola. I wonder if Redford ever though about taking Mickey Rooney place on CBS. You know, the guy who always starts out saying "you know what gets me". Course, that almost sounds like Gilbert Godfrey, wouldn't he be a hoot on that show.
Robert Redford, through his efforts on environmental issues and bringing corporations together to explore and work with other environmentalists, helped to establish the first environmental laws. His wonderful films, those he's directed, have explored relationships, family dynamics and character in deep, enriching ways.
To those making pejorative comments, you don't seem to have a clue what he's done or contributed.
Check you into a Chicago downtown hotel once. Handsome. Robert do a remake of the movie "Body Heat" where naive attorney Ned (William Hurt) is entranced by the alluring Matty (Kathleen Turner in her film debut). Ned is manipulated into killing Matty's much older husband. Remakes should be much better. with Idris elba and zoe saldana.
Robert Redford should get over himself .Seriouly"taking on the FBI? The CIA? His "heroism" and politics are as fictional as his movies. Let him move to Soviet Union or Communist Cuba and become a citizen who he made critical movie of "his" country.
He's a fraud . Even his enviromental stance is a fake as he makes millions selling million dollar lots in Utah, destroying the wilderness he proclaims to protect.
Naturally, everybody is going to listen to Redford and hang on ever word. Wonder what he's working on now days ? Maybe it's about a boat on a river (not exactly like Paul Newman's early work, but ya gotta wonder can that guy still ride a horse and wear a cowboy hat as those Russian gals just think of Americans in that fashion.) I mean, if you going to make a movie - make a western! So that it will sell the world over who we really are. And no, I'm not going to go see the new True Grit.
@kb4iuj There is a valid reason why people hang on Redford's words. He has proven record of integrity. He says what he means and means what he says. He is not speaking to make money but to save the Earth from emotionally retarded humanoids who can only see prestige and dollar signs.
Gee, I kind of thought Sundance was more about simple movie making with a shoe string budget but without the documentary approach. Course, Stacy Peralta's "Lords of Dogtown" was interesting. But, doesn't anybody make any moves like Maw & Paw Kettle. Good ole rye sense of humor which makes people laugh and think of their ole home place ?
