Nobody knew the examiners, they just seemed to materialise from dust like how leprechauns do when you're short a few bucks and knocked back a cone.

I don't believe it had anything to do with the supposition of the chap "cheating." I have pursued Medeival studies at the University of Dublin and when an instructor asks for the tests to be submitted, not doing so in a punctual manner results in a fail grade. Obviously you have never attended tertiary education, because if you did you would have come to that realisation. Also, some college classrooms are big, and unless you're distinguished, the chances of being recognised by Prof. are slim.
So yes, he did inquire in a particular way, "do you know who I am,?" and the chances of that being veritable are great. Professors teach hundreds of students a semester, and there would be know reason to remember a punk-student like the one in this kiwi commercial. Fortunately it worked in the chap's favour, and he slipped the test between the stack and got away with the ilicit deed. Now I hope it is clear for all, disregarding the previous, albeit inadequate, explanation.
