  • LMFAO THIS GUY SUX!!! he is realy just hiting randonly! if you guys want to hear a reall drumer play FAST then watch my vids.

    -Shane Aubrey

  • 0:25 FAIL

  • IAN PAISTE

  • ozzy osbourne playing drums

  • Lol, grow up people. You who trash Barker are just as immature and uneducated as those who worship him. He doesn't suck. Is he great? No. Is he clean and precise, and does he record well? Yes. He has his place in the drumming community, and he's filled that spot well. Paice and Bonham also have their places, and they've both filled that spot well. None of you should bring the idea up anymore.

  • That's a cool way to play heel up

  • Look it's Elton John on drums

  • I can do it better! XD

  • @gzyppp

And then you wake up :)

  • I see a strong correlation in the fact that both travis barker and justin bieber is being brought up here on youtube to such an extent. The similarities are stunning. We all agree that Justin sucks.. So.. Yeah. The same goes for Travis. Please stop throwing his name around.

  • Wanker.

  • im 17 and i think this man, gavin, john, marco, carter, tony, dennis and the others are the real drummers.

  • i have to subcribe to you that have 2 videos in 3 years?

  • 1:02 sounds like moby dick solo of John Bohnam O_o

  • i think it was a machine until that error at 0:25 make me realize that he has flesh and bones like me but has more groove and technique in his index finger nail that me in all my body

  • @JoeJacari Travis Barker? The blink 182 drummer? Dude you are fucking retard haha, your ears are full of BULLSHIT. Fucking bitchtard. Fuck you ignorant mother fucker

  • @DarkBit666 Lol, dude that guy is trolling hard talking about Barker. No one is that dumb, he's just looking for someone to get all worked up

  • also please remember than Ian have one lung removed long time ago...

  • he makes me dance!!!

  • 1.IAN PAICE 2.COZY POWELL 3.JOHN BONHAM!!!

  • along with Cozy Powell best drummers !

  • This is Elton John. He switched from singing to playing drums. I'm not sure who's better: Ian Pace, Carmine Appice...or my cat, Ears. Ears was taught by the best of the best, le grande maestro: Travis Barker! Oh, yeah! Barker! You know him: the guy who'd smoke Buddy RIch ten ways to Sunday and back again! Oh, this drum solo is cool. Many cha-chas and chunkitos! However, you know the legend of Barker: panties flying on the stage, women fainting, big Vegas $3.99 buffets, drum corps chops!

  • it always trips me out to watch a lefty drummer...

  • That snare is perfect

  • yea left handed drummer!!!

  • PAISTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whoops, forgot the feel.

  • @wazmacmusic meaning?

  • @wazmacmusic Whoops, forgot your education. Wait, you never had one. My bad.

  • he wears the glases, to not get blended of the shining of his shells! awesome!

  • His kit looks like it stuck in the 80's... So many drums in weird places...

  • there are much better recent solos from Ian Paice than this one...

  • Ian Paice is equal to or even better the Bonham. Bonham seemed to have a nack for parts that were the total inspiration for emulation. where as Ian was playing parts as good if not better than Bonham but somehow got lost in the songs.

I guess that speaks even more so for Bonhams talent?!!Paice is legend Though

  • Super drummer all round and his kit and cyms look and sound fab. This guy must be like myself-has a fetish for gleaming cymbals LOL!

  • simply amazing

  • A good drummer without a douibt, but why he used 90% the one clest to him and almost never touched the rest? Would've been so much more impressive without the accessories.

  • 1:34

    rainbow cymbals

  • @nickisepicwin yes that is what PAISTE 2002 cymbals look like under stage light I love them!

  • I feel identified with Paice because I'm left handed too!

  • Its on LCD

  • Ian deserves much more credit. He is equal to or maybe slightly better than Bonham, although they both have their differences. And all these kids look up to Travis Barker...freakin sad.

  • @theIdolThreat Totally agree:) Barker is only a drum killer with very modest fantasy and creativity.

And yes: for me Paice is more creative than Bonham (though I highly appreciate Him too. A difference is similar Blackmore comparing to Page.) Returning to Paice, take eg. Flight of the Rat. And the Fireball intro is the best rock rhythm forever, noone made better - even Paice either - during 40 ys.

    Bestest: George:)

  • @theIdolThreat hey! imma kid who likes bonham and paice... i personally like his "mule" solo and bonzo's swing feel.. :D very awesome...

  • @theIdolThreat sorry dude, but i can't let you say this guy is as good as bonham and and not comment, he's good, and has a freaky kit-set up, but he isn't nearly as good as bonham

  • @DrummerStuffable I'm sorry , Bonham had a cool sound , but was

    an average drummer .

Ian Paice is a super drummer , with a better technique than J.B. and

he knows his way around the kit better .

You like Bonham more because you like his style more than the style of I.P''s

    drumming .

But that Ian Paice is the better ( technical ) drummer is a FACT !!

  • @tamalexis i'm sorry, i just disagree :-/

  • @theIdolThreat Bonham has more credit than Paice because he died, death makes artists more famous. I'm not saying Bonham sucked he was a great and innovative drummer but because of his death he gets more attention than Paice. I love both but Paice is my favourite.

  • @ter50 ya they are both so similar and so different. Ian has more finesse and more of a swing feel than Bonham, but Bonham is a much heavier hitter. but hey, anyone ever hear of drum mics? i love them both, they are both equal to me, but Ian is my personal favorite

  • @theIdolThreat travis barker is good, but so overrated

  • @theIdolThreat oh i wonder why he is famous and you aren't famous

  • 0:09 He plays fireball or not?

  • You to could be this good but first you gotta be left-handed and you might get a bit of a look in!!

  • That china sounded amazing...I wonder what size it was...

  • @JBL8863 The china used here is a Paiste 2002 22" China. It says in the description. Yes, it is amazing.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX thanks for the reply...I in the market for adding a china to my set....My last set I had a 18" Rude and loved it but sold the entire set and down sized...

I've been searching for a Zildjian brand with the same sound but still haven't heard anything yet in a china that can compares to the Paiste china cymbals.

Any rcommendations? I like the 22" in this video but it might ring a little to long in a live situation....This was why I went with an 18"....sustain was less

  • @JBL8863 Well, right now I'm playing an 18" A Custom china, but that might have a little bit too much sustain for you. If you want a little more presence with shorter sustain, then look into the 19" K Custom Hybrid china. If you want a china with a little less presence, look into the 14" K Series Mini China. Both are great cymbals, but now that I reread your comment, I think that the 19" K Custom Hybrid will be PERFECT for you. Go listen to a sample and then give me your feedback.

  • he looks like Elton John...Lol...

  • @Bugadale no, Elton John looks like him haha

  • I had forgotten how good his hands are...very impressive.

  • lieur kang tibalik drumna

  • a fat elton john with a pony tail?!?!

  • I would give a billion for that snare and the sound <3

  • @JonesSs1993 Good news, his signature snare is only $335.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX But is the sound inclueded in the price? ;-)

  • gawd those cymbals look beautiful

  • VAI TOMAR NO CU SEUS FLIHOS DA PUTAS

PORRA, A MELHOR PART VCS PARAM, PORRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Ian Paice is a drummer known for his long career in Deep Purple and his exceptional playing style. Of course people can be better, (hardly), faster and rougher. But he is a brilliant drummer because of his VERY unique style. Try playing as he does, i doubt you will be successful though.

  • I could seriously listen to him for the rest of my life. His playing is so.. like entrancing! I don't even know, but I LOVE it! The playful Paice, again at his best!

  • this is great but is he left handed?

  • Stiil great, and commanding tremendous respect, but nothing like the Paice of old.

  • @mrReedhead

    Don't be stupid.

  • I want to see him battle Dennis Chambers

  • Ahhhhh... fala serio... ridiculo... nao é isso que se espera de um profissional... eu que sou completamente amador sei tocar melhor que isso!!!

  • Neil Peart has nothing on this.

  • I don't know about the speed and acceleration of Ian these days, but he was super fast in the 70s.

  • I am disappointet that he went away from Ludwig drums, and the sound of the bass drum is too swampy. His Ludwig kit from the 70's has a better sound

  • @jakobkaae I agree. His kit in their 1974 California concert was amazing. Same with "Made in Japan."

  • @jakobkaae I agree with you about the Ludwig drum sound of the past. Ian is such a fine rudimentalist drummer. Awesome player and musician.

  • @rrdrums1952 ...Jeff, The time has come...POST A VID???

  • @drdave313 o you still play or is that a thing of the past for you now?

  • what a hihat?

  • these guys, eat, drink, sleep drums...i love it!

  • Wow!

  • This guy can do more with one hand than most of the crap we see today.

  • if elton john was a drummer...

  • @underscoreisnotvalid no, you mean if Ian Paice was a pianist.

  • @underscoreisnotvalid Indeed, Im not exaaaactly sure, but if im not mistaken, Elton John actually plays drums, just as Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Prince do.

    Have a nice day.

  • No wonder Deep Purple is so amazing!

  • tune my snare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ian Paice, without doubt, is rock's most underrated drummer. !!

I'd say Ian was a more innovative, more interesting drummer than Bonzo!!

    Paice`s drum solo is MUSIC!

  • great drummer...shit wig!!!!

  • great drummer...shit wig!!!!

  • The god finally missed a beat during 0:24, This is the first time in my life where i see ian paice ever miss a beat! I love this drum solo, great job ian :)

  • 22" 2002 China! What a juicy cymbal!!!

  • Ian easily equals Bonham in every aspect of rock drumming!

  • @headforthetropics You're suffering from the mental illness called "fucked in the head!" HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!

  • I've always thought Mr. Paice looked like Elton John, but with those glasses... goodness... Now I have no doubts.

  • Semplicemente GRANDE!

  • Paicey out rocks Bonzo times ten!! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!

  • @jeffreygaudreault they're BOTH terrible drummers

  • Amazing but just a variation of moby dick.

  • @BraydenMac Paice has been doing this type of solo since 69...pretty different than moby dick, and the times that Bonham played it live, it sounded more like what Paice was doing in some instances. So, far from being just of variation of moby dick, really...

  • Paice Masterclass!

  • this dude was makin' noise before I could even spell 'drumstick'. Still rocks the house as far as I'm concerned.

  • no disrespect ian! but you the china at 0:25

  • I want a 24'' and a 22'' crash like Ian paice!!!

  • Mr. Paice is the greatest drummer to have ever lived!!

  • pretty cool.

  • i wanna see this vid in a mirror so i know what exactly he is doing lol

  • @rhythmatist2013..first off I like your name, it some how reminds me of Stewart Copeland, I love that guy but I guess I'm more of a groover than a soloist and just a bit envious of Ian..LOL! it's all good homie, thanks for the feedback! Are you a drummer? If so do you have any work out there I can give a listen to? Peace brother.

  • SO WHAT, GIVE US A GROOVE WE CAN ATTACH TO...I'M NO IMPRESSED.

  • @jyambor.......... haven't you heard of the band deep purple? he sure does a hell of alot of grooving there. when youre playing the MODERN DRUMMER FESTIVAL to a room full of drummer,s this is usually whats expected. i was at this show and paice was playing with chad smith, after this smith went up and grooved for 10-15 minutes with no fills, at least half the audience if not more walked out so.....

  • haha meaty ass 24" crash

  • left handed drum kits look way too alien!

  • SHIT!!! I really didn't know he was, IS, that killer!!!

  • thats what i call a china.

  • the most shiny cymbals i've seen :D

  • ian paice on the drums yes....top notch drummer

  • You know i find it funny how us drummers are never satisfied, we see a band playing and we want to see the drummer, we see the drummer and we want to know what are his feet doing, we see those then we have to know what techinique is he using, we finally get that and then its well what equipment is it, and lastly its why the hell can't i seem to do that?

  • @page0431 True dude XD

  • @page0431 truer words have never been spoken....I also dream about drum sounds which I can't seem to reproduce on my own kit.

  • @page0431finally somebody knows how i feel

  • Comment removed

  • @page0431

I think that's something ubiquitous among passionate people who wish to better understand what they love. I mean, you even see the same thing in places like the Starcraft community; people spend thousands of hours watching replays to better understand how to play.

  • @TheWALOS my girlfriend says if I keep on watching nevake's channel starcraft videos she'll dump me. And that drum solos are boring. Then again, she plays the bass guitar.

  • Thankfully we have a legend still alive after Moon and Bonham, among others, have passed on. Ian, live long and prosper.

  • his face throughout this vid is like... ba ba do ba zing zing wazza !

  • buddy rich have a better speed on snare .

  • No one would ever say that this guy is a drummer and a ver good one.

  • @QL7176 You obviously are 1. Stupid...and 2.. a non player deluxe drummer or 3. Not a drummer at all

  • @rrdrums1952

    1) I'm not a drummer but i like drums. 2) go fuck yourself 3) go fuck yourself again...

  • @QL7176 You know nothong about what makes a great drummer.2. Ian is 3..Fuck off

  • I like how he misses the china at 0:24

Petty criticisms aside, it's a decent solo.

  • people always, for the most part, declare bonham as the king of 70's rock drummers, when in reality paice, in my opinion was the better drummer between the two. that's not to say that either of those two were the best in the rock world, but as far as drumming prowess goes, i'd give the nod to paice.

  • this man is groove itself!

  • I have seen better drums solo from Ian Paice han this one, the best Rock drummer ever...

  • ian paice is one of my favorite drummers..deep purple was full of excellent musicians-if you want a taste of old school good shit-get deep purples made in japan album like 1973 great drum solo using a ludwig one mounted 2 floor tomes standard sized snare--this is a bad muther fucker...and so was don brewer of grand funk get their live album like 1970 grand funk live they both play a similar fashion and both are bad as hell-i think don was playing a lud too back in the day-i saw deep purple 1976

  • i can beat that guy with one stick just kidding i suddebly feel the need to practice my rolls hehe good job

  • hard to believe Ian was 57 or 58 years old when this was filmed! Unbelievable for his age!

  • his kit looks like a temple

  • its modern drummer festival 2005

  • wow, I didn't no he was a lefty

  • that sucks mikkey dee

  • that me make think about the wizard drum by black sabbath

  • This drum solo is waaaaaay groovey, man!!

  • Very good!

  • Очень хорошо!

  • I have always been a huge Ian Paice fan and i always will. Unfortunately, this was the wimpiest solo I have ever seen.

  • My main inspiration for wanting to play drums was this man. Phil Collins, Bill Bruford, Carl Palmer, and John Bonham were the others.

  • that china came from heaven

  • My idol! And the kit sound unbelievably good!

  • lulz how can he miss the largest china ever at 0:25? Epic drummer

  • nice drum kit

  • Lol, those two crashes hang there just for show.

  • Comment removed

  • fat people can really play drums

  • @tmurphy494

That has to be one of the top 5 stupidest comments I've read.

  • he has an interesting set-up

  • Wow I never knew he was left handed. Derp.

  • 19 Jordison Fans watched this.

  • It hurts me to watch

  • epic man playing drums

  • He's always been my favourite drummer. No one in the world can do it like Paicey!

  • you can hear he stems form jazz drumming, all hands no feet..... which is great.

  • What band does this guy play for?

  • @TheBipolarBullet he plays for deep purple.

  • @TMdrumbum Thankssss

  • Interesting set...

  • great rock drummer with chops!!

  • It's different watching a leftie bang the drums...

  • @streetdoc432 As good as he is, I find it difficult watching a leftie too. I think it's the difficulty to reflect my drumming with his due to everything being the opposite way round.

  • love Ian Paice

  • where was it??

  • @KaddyRox I think it's being mentioned in the comment section c:

  • FUCKING BITCH ASS DOUBLE BASS, other than that, godly. Bonham for life.
