There are times here when YOU start to come through, and then just as quickly as they begin, you're cutting them off and channeling Keith again. More playing done while SCATTING will go along way towards negating that because the sound of your voice is inside of your head, the same place where your music should originate from!

Nicely done. Two suggestions. Take the music off of your piano. When you are improvising, do so with the piano free of sheet music. Secondly, You'll never be improvising in your own moment if you're hearing any part of Jarrett's Somewhere rendition in your head. Channeling your musical thoughts with as much freedom from the sound of other pianists as much as is possible is imperative to translating your flow of instant composition.

Very nice voicings and overall a great modern performance. I would have preferred the melody to be less rubato and stay in almost strict time. All the LH activity tends to smother the RH. The B section was perfect becuse you keep the melody in front of everything else. Also think about using more note range. start LH arppegio 8va lower and use 3 octaves instead of 2.. hope this helps you

Im learning piano too, but my limitation is reading music....I just cant! so I think you got a really amazing evolution if you started just a couple of years ago...but a jam session is about improvisation and you can get it only with intuition...not in a partiture.
