Awesomeness! I love these two together! I wanna go see them do this show for my 16th birthday, but I live in California and the show's not around here. :p
LuPone did a tour de force Joanne in the recent all-star Company singing The Ladies Who Lunch... and here, she does another great job on another great song (it's fun how two different songs were intertwined here, one for her, one for him, then both into Not Getting Married at the end).
Love this so much :) they are perfect together, I saw the oriniagl version of this from the 70s and the girl is going like 5 times faster and I can keep up so happy for myself, I LOVE PATTI AND MANDY!!!!
@cmhmuscle He's not awful...age just got the better of him. Patti, however, IS miserable bad....as always....the years of terrible technique are really showing....
@carr0760 I wouldn't say years of terrible technique...it's just these past 5 years or so, I'd say, that she really stopped managing her voice, and took on various roles that were really vocally demanding, and she wasn't really taking care of it in between shows. I loveeee Patti, but I'm pretty certain she's got some nodes going on.
@heresmysweetusername It's called an interpretation. You do realize that they aren't actually performing in Company, right? The point is whatever they decided to convey through the song. Yes, if she did it like this in an actual production of Company, it wouldn't make sense. BUT THIS ISN'T COMPANY.
I remember seeing this in Wilmington Delaware and Pattie messed the words up in the middle of the song, but redeemed herself in the end and got an ovation. She is filled with powa!
@OBCBW HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! EXACTLY!!! you know she has her own mob out there. =p i LOVE her but she is definitely crazy train. that's what makes her so awesome though. ^_^
A) IT'S FREE ADVERTISING (for a show with a limited run)
B) Millions of people cannot afford to see these shows. This is the only way they can see this. Why begrudge them, after shutting them out?
We'll this in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, this will wipe out the bad taste in our mouths from the too-long, ridicuously simplistic & expensive "Billy Elliot."
-- Oh! If you haven't yet, please listen to him sing Loving You in his performance on Larry King. It's on respectanimals' channel. In my opinion, it's a MUCH better performance than this one... but then again, it's a much different interpretation.
TOO SLOW!

patti totally missed the whole point of this song. She sang this song like mrs. lovett rather than amy.
