  • Mufti Muhammad Shafi Sahib Uthmani رحمه الله writes: ‘Upon the issue of the moon, if there is an advancement of technology to assist in the field of Astronomy to the point where there is no deviation from the Islamic principles, then there is no reason to reject it. (Ru’yat Hilal, p10)

  • follow*

  • Majority of Muslims do not want to feel Saudi Arabia, that is untrue. A large and very loud minority do.

  • @izy123 majority of muslim want to follow what is tranditional way of islam based on Quran and sunnah and interetation of poius people of past for issues which came later. Sadly Saudis are meant increase more fitna of dividing muslims.

  • it was just hallucination.it's not true.

  • The moon is sitting directly over my head and lights my path wherever I go just like the Sun. Dawn truly does provide light. I need Nasa or a scienetist or some other holy person to confirm this.

  • Hafiz Patel is a Fitnah in the UK about the moon sighting and Eids .He follows the Saudi House . And you know that the Aali saud is the most dangrous Munaafiq in the world 4 the Muslims. wearing the robe of the so called Khadimul Haramain is enough to deceive the faithfulls. also faithfulls should beware, when they r getting injected with the poison just before the Hujj and Umrah visa under the pretext of health and safety. I'm 1of the victims of this injection

  • Z Hejja ه ١٣٩٩ (Shekha Bin Baaz) The grand scholar Mufti of Saudi Arabia (Al Bathul Islami p 63) After doing extensive research on this issue, he concludes with this statement. ‘As for those who say that it is necessary to follow the sighting of Makkah then let it be known that there is no proof or basis for this in the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah’.

  • The mosques in the UK should not follow Saudi so ramadhan was really on Thursday 12th August.

  • @AutoMata666 dude they use the lunar calendar, not the solar calendar. If you know the difference, you'll understand why they focus on that so much. Don't be so quick to assume things about Muslims without at least researching it first, it just makes you look ignorant, and it makes ppl who are better informed just laugh at you. They don't worship the moon or believe it to be anything other than an inanimate thing.

  • Nice video.

  • I am most grateful to Islam Channel (Br Salah Uddin, programme manager, and Mohammad Ali, CEO) for hosting this discussion. I hope they continue this good effort (and don't shy away!), Insha-Allah.

When is the next programme on this issue? Please give us plenty of notice, so we can also make some valuable contribution (by active participation!).

  • The Messenger of Allaah (s) said: "Fast when you SEE the crescent. If it is obscured to you, then complete thirty days of Sha'baan. And break your fast when you SEE the crescent. If it is obscured to you then fast thirty days" [al-Bukhaaree and Muslim]
