@Agarond I certainly miss the feel on Minecraft when it was new to me, however back when I stared in Alpha there were so many less features. I think overall the "coolness" of new Minecraft was what made me fall in love with the game, not the glowing green grass. If I had started in the current version I think the intrigue of Minecraft would still be the same.

I feel like an old veteran when I tell people who came in later how it was in the time before beds, when you still had to sit out every night. In the beginning I overestimated how dangerous the mobs are and iron was still relatively rare compared to now (meaning I was very stingy with it and used stone swords and tools all the time), so I pretty much spent every night in my house, staring out at the monsters and waiting for it to become day again.
