No, I'm pretty sure you're reffering to the Saturday Night Live performance in the early '90s, back when Blood Sugar came out. This performance was in the '00s, and I'm guessing '05 or '06, because it seems to be about Katrina. I'm be damned surprised if ANY of the band members thought this was a bad performance. Fuck, everybody's on top of their game here. It's prime Chili Peppers.

i absolutly love it when the chili peppers show their amazing harmony by having the amazing john frucsiante sing background vocals. it is shown best in this video, and sperformances such as the live at slane castle, and the aol sessions. john frusciante can sing so well. i love it. i really hope the chili peppers come out with a new album, they're by far one of the best bands of this generation.

im a huge huge rhcp fan so dont take this the wrong way guys, but how fucking good is this band when anthony is on his game. i feel like thats the x-factor in their performaces. you know that john flea and chad are going to be awesome, but anthony can definitely struggle. this performance depicts how amazingly awesome they can be live when anthony is that good.

you are entirely correct, man. I've been to 3 live gigs so far and truly have experience with them. I can safely say that this performance is by far the best version of under the bridge I've ever heard. This is so because John does little but significant alterations to his part of the song (sings through the verse), but mainly because anthony finally demonstrates his vocal skills. Never has he sung live like that... excellent!
