  • glad you picked the originally written "cadenza" for the last few bars, over the scales/ossia line. i've heard too many of the ossia played rushed or ineffectively. i'd rather hear something played well than a more difficult version but played poorly.

plus, very few people play the originally scored bars - and since liszt has those chords (a la tchaikovsky concerto) in the score, they deserve to be performed - well done.

  • Horowitz plays a different version, more difficult...

  • I know the version you mean. In the final cadenza there are scales going up the keyboard accompanying the melody instead of the chordal version ("a la Tchaikovsky 1st piano concerto") that I play. I wish I had played it the other way as it is more effective and impressive.

  • I didn´t mean to be rude or something like that, i was surpreised because i never heard this version... that was a great performance, and thank you for sharing it, now i get confused because a friend of mine played this ballade in his graduation, but i don´t know what version he played. LOL

    Congratulations

  • excellent,lovely feeling

  • very pitty that you have choosen for the second cadenza, the first one is much better for that piece...

  • thats true

  • bravo! thank you for the passion and sincerity.

  • beautifully played!
